The posted compensation range of $72.88 - $108.42 /hour is a reasonable estimate that extends from the lowest to the highest pay CommonSpirit in good faith believes it might pay for this particular job, based on the circumstances at the time of posting. Job Summary and Responsibilities

As our Clinical Pharmacist, you’ll help our patients feel better and recover from their illness or injury. Dignity Health is dedicated to delivering oncology patient care through innovative and comprehensive infusion services. As Clinical Pharmacist, you will provide comprehensive clinical pharmacy services within our Oncology and Specialty Infusion Centers on the North Central Coast.

Every day you will meticulously review every prescription in your queue for safety, critically assessing potential drug interactions, correct dosing, patient allergies, or any irregularities. You'll then authorize prescriptions for the pharmacy technician, performing a final check before dispensing medication to the nursing station, ensuring expert oversight in every process.

To excel in this role, you will demonstrate strong expertise in chemotherapy, immunotherapy, targeted therapies, sterile compounding, regulatory compliance, and clinical program development. You must also go above and beyond for your patients, delivering an exceptional experience along with exceptional care.

Responsibilities: 

  • Provide drug information and pharmaceutical guidance to healthcare professionals, patients, families, and the public to support safe and effective medication use.
  • Function as a staff pharmacist and clinical pharmacy leader by establishing, maintaining, and expanding clinical pharmacy programs aligned with System, Region, and Facility Pharmacy Services initiatives, in keeping with Marian Regional Medical Center’s healthcare philosophy.
  • Mentor and educate pharmacists and technicians, collaborating with physicians, nurses, and allied staff to advance clinical pharmacy practices, protocols, and support functions.
  • Maintain and advance clinical pharmacy services under the direct supervision of the Manager/Director of Pharmacy and oversee staff functions during operational shifts.
  • Optimize medication management programs and lead the development and implementation of clinical and operational protocols to enhance oncology pharmacy practice.
  • Participate in clinical trials, develop and implement new treatment protocols, and contribute to advancing oncology pharmacy practice.


Job Requirements

Qualifications:

  • Two (2) to three (3) years experience as a clinical pharmacist.
  • B.S. Pharmacy; or M.S. Pharmacy, or Pharm. D.
  • REGISTERED PHARMACIST (RG PHARMST).
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing, with all levels of hospital staff, physicians, and the general public.

We are offering a sign-on bonus in addition to relocation to new hires who meet the eligibility requirements.
