The posted compensation range of $29.44 - $43.79 /hour is a reasonable estimate that extends from the lowest to the highest pay CommonSpirit in good faith believes it might pay for this particular job, based on the circumstances at the time of posting. CommonSpirit may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range as permitted by law.
***This position is remote, but will be expected to work PST business hours.
In this Business Analyst I role, you will serve as the internal consultant for the Managed Care Operations team, providing analysis, reporting, and operational support across a variety of functions, including credentialing, contracting, claims, provider relations, quality/risk, care coordination, utilization management, and business development. You will bridge the gap between operational needs and technology solutions, ensuring data integrity and actionable insights for key stakeholders. As part of the BA Hub, you will also partner closely with the Population Health Analytics function to ensure consistent and accurate reporting across all markets.
Essential functions will include:
- Providing support in analyzing business data, processes, and defining data and reporting requirements for Managed Care Operations.
- Assisting with less complex custom and third-party business intelligence applications.
- Begining to develop relationships with internal stakeholders in Managed Care Operations and assist in identifying process improvements.
- Assisting in gathering and defining report and data extract requirements for reporting teams.
- Conducting basic data analysis and assist with identifying trends and root causes in business performance.
- Ensuring positive data integrity and assist with data governance procedures.
- Participating in the development of project plans and assist with project documentation and planning.
- Supporting process improvement initiatives through workflow analysis and gap identification.
Job Requirements
Minimum Qualifications:
- 2 years of experience in business analysis, within healthcare or managed care environments.
- 2-4 years of experience in a business analyst role within healthcare, managed care, or health plan operations.
- Experience working with managed care functions, including claims, credentialing, and provider relations.
- Associates degree in healthcare administration, managed care business, information technology, or related fields, or equivalent experience.
- Basic understanding of managed care operations, data analysis, and report generation.
- Database design and querying, business information systems, business statistics, e-commerce systems, or related courses.
- Strong proficiency with data analysis tools such as SQL, PowerBI, or similar.
- Demonstrated ability to support process improvements and manage multiple projects.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex data sets and identify key trends.
- Ability to effectively communicate with stakeholders at all levels, translating technical findings into actionable business insights.
- Demonstrated ability to collaborate across functions to deliver operational improvements and strategic initiatives.
- Familiarity with HIPAA regulations and data governance best practices.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree in computer science, mathematics, management information systems, or a closely related field preferred.
- Previous experience with report automation strongly preferred.
- EZCap knowledge/experience a plus.
- Experience with SSRS,Crystal Reporting a plus.
