The posted compensation range of $25.00 - $28.35 /hour is a reasonable estimate that extends from the lowest to the highest pay CommonSpirit in good faith believes it might pay for this particular job, based on the circumstances at the time of posting. CommonSpirit may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range as permitted by law.

As our Home Care Aide, you will provide essential personalized support and companionship to clients in their homes, enhancing their overall quality of life and fostering independence according to individualized care plans.
Every day you will assist clients with activities of daily living (ADLs) such as personal care, meal preparation, medication reminders, light housekeeping, and transportation to appointments. You will meticulously document services provided and proactively communicate any changes in the client's condition to the appropriate supervisor.
To be successful in this role, you will possess a compassionate and patient demeanor, excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and a strong commitment to client dignity and well-being. Your ability to adapt to varying client needs, maintain a safe environment, and adhere to care plans with attention to detail is essential.
- Provide in-home supportive services and continuum of care.
- Demonstrate the ability to respond to clients in a polite, positive and timely manner.
- Demonstrate the ability to perform general housekeeping duties.
- Demonstrate the ability to perform personal care duties, including dementia care.
- Demonstrate the ability to prepare meals.
- Demonstrate the ability to maintain and monitor inventories of food and cleaning supplies.
- Demonstrate the ability to properly prepare for a new client assignment.
- Maintain appropriate reporting practices with the program office.
- Provide timely and accurate input of time-records.
- Provide timely and accurate mileage reports.
- Provide complete, neat, and well-written client care records.
- Provide timely, well-written and complete client stories.
- Adhere to program policies and procedures.
- Demonstrate compliance with Hospital to Home Stat program requirements.

Job Requirements
Required
- High School Graduate General Studies or 2 years equivalent work experience, upon hire or
- High School GED General Studies or 2 years equivalent work experience, upon hire and
- Minimum 6 months of paid, quantifiable in-home care experience with non-relativeclient(s) or graduate of Mercy & Memorial Hospitals Homemaker Care Program. and
- Driver's License: CA, upon hire and
- Auto Insurance, upon hire and
- Basic Life Support - CPR, upon hire
Preferred
- Experience with professional elder carecompany/facility preferred. Certified NurseAssistant and Certified Home Health Aidesare also

Founded in 1910, Dignity Health - Mercy Hospital is a 229-bed, acute care, nonprofit hospital located in Bakersfield, California. Serving nearly 90,000 patients annually, the hospital offers a full complement of services including Level II NICU, cancer care, women’s health, and orthopedics. Additionally, Mercy Hospital Downtown & Mercy Hospital Southwest have been recognized as an LGBTQ+ Healthcare Equality High Performer by the Human Rights Campaign Foundation. They are both Joint Commission-certified Primary Stroke Centers.
