The posted compensation range of $43.59 - $75.64 /hour is a reasonable estimate that extends from the lowest to the highest pay CommonSpirit in good faith believes it might pay for this particular job, based on the circumstances at the time of posting. Job Summary and Responsibilities

As our Registered Nurse (RN), you will be a pivotal healthcare professional, delivering compassionate, high-quality care that truly impacts our patients' well-being and recovery.

  • PATIENT ASSESSMENT/REASSESSMENT



      • Perform patient assessment/reassessment, including giving or receiving comprehensive change of shift and intermittent report, obtaining the nursing history, conducting a physical assessment, establishing priorities for care.


      • Assures that ICU Bundle is followed with every patient. Completes multidisciplinary rounding tool daily.


      • Completes both computer and hand written documentation using correct format in an accurate, precise, timely, legible and complete manner .


      • Provide direct patient care, as required. Assist physician with procedures, as necessary.


      • Report changes in patient's condition to physician.
  • NURSING BUNDLE



      • Update white board at shift change during bedside report.


      • Performs hourly rounding.


      • Provide assessment for pain, changing patient position and assisting with toileting as needed.


      • Discharge phone calls as per policy.
  • DEVELOP/IMPLEMENT/EVALUATE/DOCUMENT INTERDISCIPLINARY INDIVIDUALIZED CARE PLAN



      • Ensures coordinated interdisciplinary approach for all patients per policy.


      • The Interdisciplinary Care Plan is updated when there is a change in condition or additional patient care needs are identified by nursing and other appropriate disciplines updated daily or condition changes or warrants.


      • Completes both computer and hand written documentation using correct format in an accurate, precise, timely, legible and complete manner .


      • Nursing coordinates interdisciplinary collaboration and keeps the patient informed of progress toward expected outcomes and involves the patient/family in revisions toward the plan.
  • INTERACT AND EDUCATE PATIENT/FAMILY/SO



      • Address and meet patient's physical, emotional, spiritual, and psycho/social needs.


      • Identify and collaborates to address patient/family/SO learning needs and documents per policy on the interdisciplinay teaching record.


      • Promote patient's rights; maintain privacy and confidentiality.


      • Identify ethical issues and refer to appropriate resources.
  • LEADERSHIP



      • Demonstrates awareness of professional responsibility by being a role model while maintaining practice within The Patient's Bill of Rights and Dignity Health Core Values.


      • Adheres to Dignity Health standards and Behaviors by promoting teamwork and a positive work environment, model cooperative behavior with other staff members behavior and act in a professional manner and uses effective lines of communication.


      • Participates in problem-solving processes in which unit-based problems are identified and a plan is made and implemented for correction.


      • Functions as an effective resource for peers and other staff with regard to policy and procedure.


      • Contributes to cost effectiveness by adhering to staffing patterns and appropriate utilization of other resources.


      • Adapts well to changes, seeking clarification when necessary.
  • PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT



      • Maintains professional nursing practice.


      • Actively participates in setting personal goals annually and submits plan for attaining goals.


      • Pursues continued training in changes in treatments and techniques through obtaining CEU's.


      • Attends > 50% of staff meetings and all mandatory inservices.


      • Maintains skill set specific to needs of the patient population.


      • Follows policies with regard to tardiness, attendance, dress code and use of time.


      • Demonstrats concern for patients and co-workers by being preparred to work in the work area on time.

Job Requirements

Required

  • Other Education level necessary to obtain required licensure and certifications and 1-2 years of previous acute care experience required or hired through the new grad program., upon hire and
  • Registered Nurse: CA, upon hire and
  • Basic Life Support - CPR, upon hire and
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support, upon hire


Preferred

  • Bachelors Of Nursing BSN, upon hire and
  • ICU experience

Bakersfield Memorial Hospital includes 385 general acute beds, 48 licensed critical care beds, 13 state-of-the-art surgical suites, and a full-service Emergency Department with an Accredited Chest Pain Center and Nationally Certified Stroke Center. In addition, we offer a beautiful Family Care and Birthing Center, the Lauren Small Children's Center including the area's only Pediatric Intensive Care Unit, Family Care Center, a Level II NICU, the Sarvanand Heart, and Brain Center with Kern County's first Bi-Plane Interventional Suite, the Center for Wound Care and Hyperbarics, and many more services.
