The posted compensation range of $22.98 - $32.45/hour is a reasonable estimate that extends from the lowest to the highest pay CommonSpirit in good faith believes it might pay for this particular job, based on the circumstances at the time of posting. Job Summary and Responsibilities

Sterile Processing Manager

Are you a leader passionate about patient safety and operational excellence? CHI St. Alexius Health is seeking an experienced and dedicated Sterile Processing Manager to oversee the critical day-to-day operations of our Sterile Processing Department. In this vital role, you will ensure the highest standards of sterilization, directly impacting the quality of care delivered to our patients.

As a Sterile Processing Manager, you will collaborate closely with OR Leadership and various ancillary departments to meet all instrumentation and sterilization needs. You'll be instrumental in leading a high-performing team, fostering a culture of quality, and maintaining compliance with all regulatory standards.

What You'll Do:

  • Lead & Develop: Oversee daily operations of the Sterile Processing Department, including hiring, orienting, coaching, and evaluating staff performance. You will set goals, provide continuous feedback, and administer corrective action when necessary.
  • Ensure Quality & Safety: Guarantee timely and accurate sterilization of instruments for operating rooms and procedural areas. Develop and maintain quality metrics in collaboration with Infection Prevention, Quality, and OR teams. Serve as a key resource for all sterilization needs and ensure adherence to manufacturer's Instructions for Use (IFU).
  • Optimize Operations: Manage departmental inventory, including supplies and implants. Collaborate with vendors to maintain functional instrumentation and order replacements as needed. Allocate and direct staffing resources to meet department needs while optimizing productivity.
  • Documentation & Compliance: Maintain precise instrument checklists, sterilization records, and process documentation, ensuring full compliance with all department policies and regulatory standards.
  • Team Contribution: Actively participate in relevant organizational meetings and committees. Provide and oversee ongoing staff education and competency development.
  • Perform Hands-On Duties: Be prepared to perform all duties of a Sterile Processing Tech I and II as needed, demonstrating a comprehensive understanding of the work.

Job Requirements

What You'll Bring:

  • Proven experience in Sterile Processing management or a similar leadership role.
  • Strong understanding of sterile processing principles, practices, and regulatory requirements.
  • Exceptional leadership, communication, and team development skills.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with diverse departments.
  • Detail-oriented with a commitment to accuracy and quality.
  • Specific certifications (e.g., CRCST, CIS, CSPM) would be a great addition to add here if required/preferred.
