Franciscan Medical Group, a part of Virginia Mason Franciscan Health, is currently seeking a full-time  Cardiac Device RN  for our Franciscan Heart and Vascular Associates in Burien, WA. We are seeking a motivated individual to join our patient centered team. This individual will support a fast paced Cardiovascular care team making a tangible difference in patients' lives with cardiac devices. Day shift, no weekends, no organizationally recognized holidays required!

About the Role:

As a Clinic Cardiac Device RN, you will be responsible for providing professional nursing care focused on the testing, retrieval, and analysis of data from implantable cardiac devices (e.g., loop recorders, pacemakers, defibrillators) in an ambulatory care setting. You will work collaboratively with physicians, providers, and other members of the multidisciplinary care team to ensure optimal patient outcomes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Cardiac Device Management:Perform in-clinic interrogation and reprogramming of implantable loop recorders, pacemakers, and AICDs. Conduct routine remote interrogation and monitoring for daily device alerts. Develop initial device analyses and generate preliminary reports.
  • Patient Care:Provide pre- and post-procedure counseling and education to patients and families. Triage and conduct visits to patients post-device insertion. Examine post-implant wound sites and provide associated patient care.
  • Clinical Assessment:Administer cardiovascular and pharmacological stress tests, interpreting EKG findings. Complete cardiac risk assessment forms. Perform cardiac device-related nursing triage activities.
  • Collaboration:Provide perioperative recommendations regarding device programming. Alert practitioners to urgent issues requiring further action. Collaborate with physicians on appropriate treatment protocols and decisions.
  • Documentation:Document studies, procedures, and interactions in the patient's electronic medical record.

Qualifications

Education/Experience:

  • Graduation from an accredited school of nursing approved by the Washington State Board of Nursing and two years of related work experience that would demonstrate attainment of the requisite job knowledge/abilities. Work experience in a cardiology-related field is preferred.
  • Work experience in med/surg, telemetry and/or a cardiology-related field is preferred. 

License/Certification:

  • Current licensure as a Registered Nurse by the Washington State Board of Nursing.
  • Current Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification.
