The posted compensation range of $18.00 - $27.67 /hour is a reasonable estimate that extends from the lowest to the highest pay CommonSpirit in good faith believes it might pay for this particular job, based on the circumstances at the time of posting. CommonSpirit may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range as permitted by law.

Job Summary and Responsibilities

As our Phlebotomy Services Tech, you will perform the collection and processing of blood samples and other specimens, providing a high level of customer service for laboratory inquiries and information.

Every day you will meticulously collect and process various patient specimens, respond professionally to lab inquiries, and provide accurate information regarding test requirements, ensuring efficient and high-quality phlebotomy services.

To be successful in this role, you will possess strong phlebotomy skills, meticulous attention to detail in specimen collection/processing, excellent customer service abilities, and a commitment to maintaining laboratory quality and safety standards.

  • Performs venous, capillary, urine drug screen, swab collection, or other specimen collection as defined by site.
  • Ensures quality collection of specimens including appropriate sample container, sample volume, collection priority, and sample identification.
  • Receives specimens, assesses priority, assures appropriate specimen identification and appropriate specimen type. May include ordering and processing of hospital registered and outreach patients.
  • Provides accurate collection information to caregivers and patients.
  • Follows laboratory, hospital, and regulatory agency policies, procedures, and guidelines.
  • Ensures appropriate collections supplies are utilized, stocked, and are within expiration date.

What is Enterprise Pool?

We have reimagined our contingent staffing plan with a new Enterprise Resource Pool that offers many options for flexibility, variety, and career growth, while supporting our collective mission to deliver outstanding whole-person care to our flourishing communities. The CommonSpirit Mountain Region Enterprise Resource Pool consists of both clinical and allied roles that flex or float throughout the CommonSpirit Mountain Region system. Associates within the Enterprise Pool will have the opportunity to float to multiple units within one facility, a geographic group of facilities, or to all of our facilities. This pool will provide additional resources to support and supplement the workload and staffing needs across the system.

Enterprise Pool 1:

  • Base rate + $1.50/Hr. Pool Differential + Eligible for evening, night, and weekend differentials
  • 1 facility – preferred location/closest to home
    • At least 2 applicable units - Must work in at least 2 applicable units.

Enterprise Pool 2:

  • Base rate + $3.00/Hr. Pool Differential + Eligible for evening, night, and weekend differentials
  • Assigned to one of four zones. Zone is determined based on your home location. Must be able to travel to the 4 hospitals assigned within that zone.

Benefits:

  • PRN: +15% PRN Differential - Not eligible for benefits
  • Full Time/Part Time: Benefits eligible based on FTE eligibility

Job Requirements

Required

  • High School Diploma or GED

Preferred

  • Completion of a phlebotomy program
  • Six (6) months phlebotomy experience
  • Phlebotomy certification, such as PBT(ASCP) or equivalent certification

Location- This position would be working our South Denver facilities which include 3 facilities in Colorado Springs, St. Mary Corwin, and St. Thomas More
