The posted compensation range of $39.58 - $70.98 /hour is a reasonable estimate that extends from the lowest to the highest pay CommonSpirit in good faith believes it might pay for this particular job, based on the circumstances at the time of posting. CommonSpirit may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range as permitted by law.

As our Specialty Educator, you will leverage your expertise as a Registered Professional Nurse to develop, implement, and evaluate a comprehensive education program within your specialty, positively influencing the quality and cost-effectiveness of patient care.
Every day you will coordinate orientation with facility departments, ongoing staff competency, and continued education based on needs assessments and regulatory requirements. You will collaborate with Clinical Specialists, facility-based educators, and providers, functioning as an educator, facilitator, consultant, researcher, and change agent to enhance patient care, while aligning with regional specialty education initiatives.
To be successful in this role, you will be a Registered Nurse with demonstrated specialty expertise in clinical nursing and a passion for professional development. You will possess strong program development and evaluation skills, a deep understanding of regulatory requirements, and the ability to effectively collaborate and influence to drive continuous improvement in patient care quality and cost-effectiveness within your specialty.
- Supports education initiatives/classes/events that benefit the staff in collaboration with department-specific leadership, to include but not limited to the annual competency validation, specialty orientation, residency training and onboarding, specialty practice training classes, preceptor class, and facility and region committee participation.
- Identifies educational needs and opportunities using data from the organization such as regulatory requirements survey information as well as employee and customer evaluation data. Collaborates with staff and management in differentiating between educational versus performance/compliance issues to design an effective plan of action.
- Plans and facilitates education initiatives/classes/events that benefit the staff.
- Incorporates evidence-based practice and adult learning theory in project and course content.
- Facilitates opportunities for nurses, students, and other staff to acquire knowledge and skills that foster professional development.
- Acts as a change agent in support of specialty education initiatives. Advances healthcare practice by supporting the integration of policies, procedures, and standards. Is knowledgeable in current healthcare trends and related legislative issues.
This position reports centrally at the region level; Greater Colorado (Southern Colorado and Kansas).
Job Requirements
Required
- Bachelor's Degree in nursing
- Registered Nurse in state of employment
- Nursing Specialty Certification - Sit within six (6) months; achieve within one (1) year of hire or transfer to the role.
- Three (3) years of experience in nursing
- Two (2) years of experience in the designated specialty
Preferred
- Master's Degree in nursing, education, or other related graduate field
