The posted compensation range of $76.36 - $113.58 /hour is a reasonable estimate that extends from the lowest to the highest pay CommonSpirit in good faith believes it might pay for this particular job, based on the circumstances at the time of posting. CommonSpirit may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range as permitted by law.

Job Summary and Responsibilities

As our System Director, you will assist System VPs in the top management of CommonSpirit Health's information technology resources and oversee the integration of multiple mission-critical organization information technology processes and strategies as assigned by a Chief Information Officer.  Director applies management principles with critical impact on technology and the organization. Incumbents exercise strategic thinking having organization-wide application and impact; develop and implement programs critical to CommonSpirit Health; and exercise control and supervision of multiple assigned integrated processes and projects/programs and significant resources.

The System Director manages one or more team(s) accountable for the development, implementation, management, refinement and/or support of technologies, systems, and information critical to CommonSpirit Health's day to day business operations. The incumbent will oversee one or more teams focused on a portion of the development or support of one or more information system(s), throughout the Information System Life Cycle. 

Position will usually have responsibility for technology strategic outcomes across multiple integrated processes and/or strategies as assigned. Responsibility crosses multiple functional units within the organization.

Responsibilities include:

  • Direct activities for technical, clinical, and patient service desks
  • Ongoing management and consolidation of help desks
  • Major Incident Processes
  • Change Management, Knowledge Management, Request Management, Incident Management, and Reporting Processes
  • Continual Service Improvement
  • Direct strategy for Digital Workplace (DWP) products and platforms, including ServiceNow, Google Workspace, Zoom, and Microsoft O365 and other platforms complimentary to collaboration and productivity
  • Define and defend a multi-year DWP product roadmap, ensuring all platform initiatives are tied to measurable business outcomes and long-term strategic objectives
  • Lead engagement with third-party vendors, including contract negotiations, license optimization, and performance management to ensure maximum value from software investments
  • Establish platform-specific KPIs and OKRs to monitor health, user sentiment, and operational efficiency, using analytics to drive continuous improvement and platform utlization and optimization
  • Budget Planning & Financial Oversight: Develop, manage, and monitor operational and capital budgets, ensuring fiscal responsibility and alignment with organizational goals.
  • Strategic Resource Allocation: Optimize the distribution of financial and personnel resources across DWP and service delivery projects to maximize ROI and project success.
  • Remote eligible.

Job Requirements

Requirements:

  • Bachelors degree or equivalent experience in a computer science, software engineering or related field
  • 10-15+ years of proven and progressive experience in IT including a minimum of 5+ years of hands-on experience working with technical infrastructure or IT security teams
  • Strong analytical, research, problem solving, and evaluative thinking skills

  • Understand the basics of Risk Management and assessing value vs. risk on initiatives

  • Acute attention to detail and well-developed organization and time management skills

  • Strong communication skills - including ability to listen to the needs of others and comprehend complex matters, articulate issues in a clear and concise manner, and present effectively in both oral and written presentations to all levels in the organization

  • Ability to drive change and initiatives by guiding and influencing senior business leadership (Vice Presidents and above)
