Responsibilities

Mercy Medical Group (MMG)is seeking a full-time, skilled, and dedicated Optometrist to join our healthcare team. As an Optometrist, you will be responsible for providing comprehensive eye care services to patients of all ages. Your primary focus will be assessing, diagnosing, and treating various eye conditions, prescribing corrective lenses, and ensuring optimal vision health. The ideal candidate should have excellent clinical skills, strong attention to detail, and a passion for delivering exceptional patient care. This position will be located in Citrus Heights, CA.Opportunity Highlights

  • Collaborative team environment – Join a team of 5 optometrists and 3 ophthalmologists within Mercy Medical Group, with strong mentorship and collegial support.

  • Full-time schedule – No call, no nights, and no weekends required.

  • Provide comprehensive eye care for patients of all ages, including:

    • Performing eye exams to assess visual acuity, refractive errors, binocular vision, and overall ocular health.

    • Diagnosing and managing a range of eye conditions such as glaucoma, cataracts, macular degeneration, and diabetic retinopathy.

    • Prescribing and fitting glasses and contact lenses tailored to individual patient needs.

    • Treating glaucoma and prescribing medications as allowed by California optometry regulations (glaucoma certification required).

  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary healthcare professionals to ensure well-rounded patient care.

  • Educate patients on proper eye care, including the safe use of corrective lenses.

  • Stay current with advancements in optometry through continuing education and professional development.

  • Maintain accurate patient records and treatment plans.

Compensation and Benefits

  • Competitive compensation: $157,000 – $174,000 annually DOE
  • Sign-on bonus and relocation assistance
  • PSLF eligible (Public Service Loan Forgiveness)

Qualifications
  • Doctor of Optometry (OD) from an accredited optometry school

  • Active California optometry license

  • Glaucoma certification required

  • Strong commitment to quality care and teamwork

  • Willingness to pursue continuing education and professional development
