The posted compensation range of $39.52 - $68.67 /hour is a reasonable estimate that extends from the lowest to the highest pay CommonSpirit in good faith believes it might pay for this particular job, based on the circumstances at the time of posting. CommonSpirit may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range as permitted by law.

Job Summary and Responsibilities

As our Unit Manager SFNC, you will oversee all aspects of resident care activities for your assigned unit(s), with a keen focus on infection prevention for high-risk areas including urinary catheters, wound care, incontinence management, and medication injections. You will serve as a vital resource in both clinical and management settings, actively participating in the facility's QAA Committee, annual infection control risk assessment, and facility assessment review processes. Your leadership will ensure thorough documentation of infection prevention and control program activities, consistently elevating care standards.

Every day you will conduct daily rounds, provide thorough reports to/from oncoming shifts, and assume essential clinical responsibilities in the absence of RN/LPN staff. You'll make rounds directly with physicians, meticulously monitoring documentation for compliance, and evaluate the daily delivery of resident care responsibilities. Your role involves initiating and managing required documentation, including Comprehensive Assessments and Resident Care Plans, and ensuring accurate and timely charting in the EMR. You will also be a compassionate communicator, liaising effectively with residents, families, staff, and physicians to maintain a calm, positive, and supportive environment.

To be successful in this role, you will possess exceptional organizational skills, strong verbal communication, interpersonal dexterity, and customer relations acumen. Your ability to manage crisis situations calmly, utilize effective time management, prioritize workload proactively, and adapt to rapidly changing technology will be crucial. Furthermore, your capacity to coach, mentor, and effectively engage with staff, residents, and families, along with a deep understanding of geriatric nursing principles, will ensure optimal delivery of nursing care and services.

  • Oversees resident care activities for the assigned unit(s) that increase risk of infection (i.e.
    use and care of urinary catheters, wound care, incontinence care, skin care, point of care blood testing, and medication injections).
  • Monitors daily resident care responsibilities of staff and evaluates delivery of care.
  • Documents in accordance with nursing policies and procedures.
  • Maintains effective communication with residents, families, staff, and physicians.
  • Assists staff to prioritize resident care needs.
  • Participates in the establishment, implementation, and evaluation of an effective unit performance improvement program.


Job Requirements

Required

  • Associate's Degree in Nursing
  • BLS (American Heart Association)
  • Minimum one (1) year recent clinical experience related to geriatric nursing.
  • Registered Nurse currently licensed in the state of employment.

Preferred

  • Long term care experience.
  • One (1) year supervisory experience.
