The posted compensation range of $19.87 - $28.06 /hour is a reasonable estimate that extends from the lowest to the highest pay CommonSpirit in good faith believes it might pay for this particular job, based on the circumstances at the time of posting. As our Paramedic, you will be a vital part of our Emergency Department (ED) team at Mercy-Corning Hospital, contributing directly to patient care excellence and augmenting nursing support. This role is perfect for a certified Paramedic with a passion for critical care, operating within the defined scope of practice for Nebraska and Iowa state regulations. Join our dedicated healthcare professionals in delivering high-quality, patient-centered emergency services.
Every day you will perform essential life-saving procedures including EKG, CPR, airway management (including intubation under ED physician supervision), and medication administration under medical direction. You'll be actively involved in rapid patient assessment, re-assessment, and immediate interventions for code and trauma activations. This dynamic position involves direct patient care, documentation in the EMR, patient transport, and continuous collaboration with RNs and ED physicians to ensure optimal patient outcomes and emergency medical treatment.
To be successful in this role, you will need strong communication skills, adherence to healthcare compliance standards, a customer-service focus, and the ability to maintain a professional and positive attitude are essential for success in this demanding yet highly rewarding emergency services career.
- Provide direct patient care and perform medical procedures: Administer medications, perform IV/IO/EJ insertions, Foley catheterization, EKG, CPR, wound care, and assist with intubation under physician supervision.
- Respond to emergencies and transport patients: Actively participate in Code 99 and trauma activations, and transport patients within the Emergency Department and hospital campus.
- Document and monitor patient conditions: Re-assess patient status, document vital signs and assessments in EMR, and interpret cardiac monitoring/rhythms.
- Maintain strict confidentiality and professionalism: Adhere to all patient confidentiality protocols and uphold a professional, customer-service oriented attitude.
- Function within scope of practice and maintain certifications: Operate strictly within Nebraska and Iowa state regulations for Paramedics, and maintain all required licenses and certifications (EMT-P, BLS, ACLS, PALS).
We are offering up to $5,000 as a Sign-on Bonus as well as up to $5,000 in Educational Assistance to new hires who meet the eligibility requirements.
