The posted compensation range of $24.15 - $37.44 /hour is a reasonable estimate that extends from the lowest to the highest pay CommonSpirit in good faith believes it might pay for this particular job, based on the circumstances at the time of posting. CommonSpirit may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range as permitted by law.

Job Summary and Responsibilities

As our Facility Mechanic, you will perform all preventative maintenance and necessary repairs to ensure regulatory compliance, quality patient care, and a safe environment for staff and patients in assigned areas.

Every day you will execute maintenance tasks, troubleshoot issues, and repair various facility systems and equipment, always adhering to safety protocols and regulatory standards to maintain optimal operational conditions.

To be successful in this role, you will possess strong mechanical and handyman skills, a meticulous approach to preventative maintenance, and a deep commitment to safety and compliance in a healthcare facility environment.

  • Oversees, coordinates, or affects all maintenance and repairs as they relate to the assigned area of responsibility, including but not limited to: all scheduled preventative maintenance (e.g., beds, convectors, thermostats, fire doors, wall penetrations, plumbing fixtures, lights, exit lights, fire extinguishers).
  • Inspects and repairs the area of responsibility to ensure it is functional, safe, and aesthetically acceptable (e.g., appropriate signage, secure handrails, ceiling tile in place and not soiled, painting, furniture, blinds, and drapes).
  • Performs other duties as assigned (e.g., assisting with hospital emergencies on and offshift during evenings or nights); duties may include but are not limited to snow removal, electrical issues, power outages, flooding, and routine maintenance checks.


Job Requirements

Required

  • High School Diploma/G.E.D.
  • Demonstrate experience (one (1) to two (2) years) and proficiency in the following areas: Maintenance plumbing; Maintenance Electrical; Carpentry; General equipment repair
  • Quality Improvement Process

Preferred

  • Read and interpret blueprints, schematics and wiring diagrams
