The posted compensation range of $47.52 - $70.68 /hour is a reasonable estimate that extends from the lowest to the highest pay CommonSpirit in good faith believes it might pay for this particular job, based on the circumstances at the time of posting. CommonSpirit may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range as permitted by law.

Job Summary and Responsibilities

The System Administrator job family for Endpoint Mobility has responsibility for infrastructure/technical planning, implementation and support activities for mobile systems using MDM tools owned by the CommonSpirit Health Technology Infrastructure team.

Specific responsibilities include defining, designing and implementing of the enterprise mobile strategy, ensuring secure and efficient management of mobile devices, apps, and data. Working closely with security and compliance, end user support, identity and access management, application development, telecom and line of business leader teams to ensure seamless and quality IT support for CommonSpirit customers and alignment with CommonSpirit's IT standards, controls and governance.

To be successful, individuals must possess a combination of technical, business and leadership skills. This requires an understanding of customers' business needs, processes, and functions. They also require a solid knowledge of Mobile Device Management, operating systems (iOS, MacOS, Android) and network security, as well as leading MDM tools and security and compliance frameworks.

In addition, individuals working in this job family must possess excellent communication skills and the ability to influence others.

The Principal System Administrator is considered a subject matter expert in the enterprise and multiple technology areas, platforms and functions. They are responsible for maintaining a deep awareness and understanding of emerging trends and technologies in IT and Healthcare. Assignments span the enterprise as the principal system administrator will be responsible for standards and technical roadmap development.

Essential Functions:

  • Maintains primary responsibility for strategic planning, technical roadmap development, standards and architecture.
  • Designs, implements, and manages mobile device management solutions by gathering requirements, architecting the solution, mapping user workflow, configuring policies and profiles, and designing how the system will integrate with other infrastructure components like email servers, directory services, and authentications systems.
  • Installs and configures components of the MDM platform.
  • Defines enrollment strategies, manages app deployment, and ensures compliance for iOS, MacOS and Android devices and implements and enforces security policies.
  • Ensures the solution meets industry best practices and regulatory compliance.
  • Plans and executes testing to validate solution interoperability, scalability, and performance under realistic operational conditions.
  • Provides advanced technical support for escalated issues related to the MDM platform and mobile devices and creates and maintains comprehensive technical documentation, including design documents, configuration guides and troubleshooting procedures.
  • Provides expert coaching and mentorship to team members on MDM platform support and advanced troubleshooting.
  • Acts as a primary escalation point for complex technical issues and critical requests.
  • Orchestrates the sourcing, oversight, and management of multiple, cross-enterprise MDM projects, often leading initiatives from conception to deployment.
  • Proactively engages with core MDM vendors and IT leadership to monitor platform evolution, assess emerging features, and incorporate future product plans into our architectural roadmap.
  • Continuously assesses and refines MDM processes, strategically identifying and implementing automation solutions.

Bachelors degree and 10 years of professional IT experience in an IT technical or infrastructure field

7+ years of system administration experience

5-7 years of experience with vendor management
