Job Summary and Responsibilities

As our Project Manager, Interior Design & Ambulatory Standards, you will serve as a strategic lead in shaping the visual and functional identity of our healthcare environments. You will play a critical role in overseeing the end-to-end design lifecycle, ensuring that all ambulatory projects—from renovation to new construction—strictly adhere to our brand standards and operational requirements. By bridging the gap between design vision and project delivery, you will ensure our spaces are not only aesthetically impactful but also aligned with CommonSpirit Health’s commitment to high-quality, patient-centered care.

Every day you will collaborate with cross-functional teams, external architectural partners, and preferred vendors to maintain and evolve our comprehensive Design Guidelines. Your responsibilities include reviewing complex construction documentation, managing furniture and finish specifications, and overseeing the integration of community-focused art programs. You will be the primary point of contact for interpreting design standards, facilitating training sessions, and ensuring that our project delivery teams maintain the highest levels of quality assurance and fiscal responsibility.

To be successful in this role, you will bring a deep understanding of healthcare interior design, architectural standards, and process improvement methodologies. You will be a proactive communicator capable of managing complex vendor relationships and influencing stakeholders across the Physician Enterprise. By leveraging data from post-occupancy evaluations and fostering innovation through continuous feedback loops, you will drive the evolution of our design practices, ensuring our facilities remain at the forefront of modern, efficient, and ergonomic healthcare delivery.

  • Develop, maintain, and train teams on CommonSpirit Health’s Design Guidelines for consistent project delivery.
  • Manage preferred vendor and architectural partner relationships to ensure high-performance service and alignment with design standards.
  • Oversee the specification, review, and application of finishes, furniture, and artwork for all ambulatory projects.
  • Establish and manage a Post-Occupancy Evaluation (POE) program to gather data and optimize future facility expenditures.
  • Lead the development of the Ambulatory Surgery Center (ASC) guidelines in partnership with internal Subject Matter Experts.
  • Create and refine standard work tools, such as cost estimation templates and furniture ordering processes, to ensure price transparency and operational efficiency.
