Manager Athletic Training
The posted compensation range of $30.55 - $44.30 /hour is a reasonable estimate that extends from the lowest to the highest pay CommonSpirit in good faith believes it might pay for this particular job, based on the circumstances at the time of posting. CommonSpirit may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range as permitted by law.
Job Summary:
Manages the sports medicine department, including the development and integration of a sports medicine program with internal and external stakeholders. Oversees collaborative network, outreach services, quality, patient experience, regulatory compliance, contract agreements, business development and all aspects of staff development and employee engagement.
Essential Functions:
- Develops annual objectives and evaluates performance to ensure department goals are met, including but not limited to stakeholder agreements, patient experience, community needs. Contributes innovative ideas to facilitate and improve patient care, department operations, and organization. Helps set short and long range goals for the department that are aligned with the hospital's mission and vision. Prepares administrative reports as required.
- Assists in the development of programs and processes that improve the quality of patient care. Ensures that patient care facilities and services are in compliance with applicable regulations and professional organization standards and that quality control programs are maintained as appropriate.
- Administers budgets and oversees staffing productivity to meet strategic objectives; evaluates and ensures cost effective utilization of resources. Maintains current knowledge of contracts and ensures compliance.
- Manages the day-to-day operations of the department including interviewing, hiring, developing and retaining personnel; plans and maintains a staffing pattern in the department which provides for the implementation of appropriate patient care in coordination and collaboration with other internal or external staff.
- Represents within the hospital, community, or other professional associations. Serves as a liaison between the hospital and relevant facilities and providers, patients, families, community. Serves on designated hospital committees or initiatives, and any other committees as assigned, or as applicable.
Qualifications
Education and Experience:
- Masters degree in Athletic Training
- Five (5) years clinical experience
- Three (3) years of supervisory experience in a sports medicine setting preferred
Licensure:
- Athletic Trainer-Board Certified (ATBC)
- Athletic Trainer: AZ (ATHTRN:AZ)
- Basic Life Support - CPR (BLS-CPR)
