The posted compensation range of $422,000 - $452,000 /year is a reasonable estimate that extends from the lowest to the highest pay CommonSpirit in good faith believes it might pay for this particular job, based on the circumstances at the time of posting. Job Summary and Responsibilities

As our Pulmonary and Critical Care Medicine Physician, you will join CHI Health Clinic in Grand Island, Nebraska, and become part of a collaborative, multispecialty team dedicated to delivering exceptional pulmonary and critical care services throughout central Nebraska. You will have the opportunity to build a balanced pulmonary and critical care practice while serving a broad regional patient population in a supportive, physician-led environment.

Every day you will provide comprehensive pulmonary and critical care services in both the clinic and hospital settings, collaborate with multidisciplinary specialists, perform advanced pulmonary procedures, and contribute to the continued growth of pulmonary medicine across the region.

To be successful in this role, you will be a board-certified or board-eligible Pulmonary and Critical Care Medicine physician with strong clinical expertise, a patient-centered approach to care, and a commitment to collaboration. You will also demonstrate excellent communication skills, procedural proficiency, and the ability to thrive within a collegial, team-based environment.

  • Provide outpatient pulmonary services through an established clinic practice
  • Deliver inpatient pulmonary and critical care services at CHI Health St. Francis
  • Evaluate, diagnose, and manage patients with a broad range of pulmonary and critical care conditions
  • Participate in the care of critically ill patients within a 16-bed open ICU supported by after-hours eICU services
  • Perform a full spectrum of pulmonary procedures, including bronchoscopy, EBUS, pulmonary function testing interpretation, and related diagnostic procedures
  • Collaborate closely with hospitalists, respiratory therapists, nursing staff, and multidisciplinary specialists to optimize patient outcomes
  • Collaborate with an established statewide pulmonary team across Grand Island, Kearney, and Omaha
  • Partner with an independent oncology group in the diagnosis and management of pulmonary and thoracic oncology patients
  • Utilize two state-of-the-art bronchoscopy and endoscopy suites designed to support advanced procedural care
  • Academic affiliation with Creighton University School of Medicine
  • Contribute to a culture of clinical excellence, collaboration, and patient-centered care

Job Requirements

Required

  • Board Certified or Board Eligible in Pulmonary Disease and Critical Care Medicine
  • Completion of a Pulmonary and Critical Care Medicine Fellowship Program
  • Valid Nebraska medical license or eligibility for medical licensure in the State of Nebraska
  • Nebraska DEA registration or eligibility to obtain

CHI Health St. Francis is a 150-bed, Level III Trauma Center and regional referral hub serving Central Nebraska. Our hospital offers a 16-bed open ICU with after-hours eICU support, a well-established hospitalist and intensivist program, and a wide range of engaged subspecialists—creating an excellent environment for collaborative, high-quality perioperative care.
