The posted compensation range of $71.00 - $76.00 /hour is a reasonable estimate that extends from the lowest to the highest pay CommonSpirit in good faith believes it might pay for this particular job, based on the circumstances at the time of posting. CommonSpirit may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range as permitted by law.
Dignity Health Medical Group Nevada is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Critical Care Nurse Practitioner (NP) or Physician Assistant (PA) to join our dynamic Critical Care team. The ideal candidate will possess excellent clinical skills, strong critical thinking abilities, and a commitment to providing high-quality patient care in a fast-paced environment.
- Provide comprehensive medical care to critically ill adult patients under the supervision of an attending physician.
- Conduct thorough patient assessments, including history taking, physical examinations, and review of diagnostic studies.
- Order and interpret diagnostic tests, including laboratory studies, imaging, and electrocardiograms.
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans based on patient needs and established protocols.
- Administer medications, including intravenous and other specialized therapies.
- Monitor patient response to treatment and make necessary adjustments.
- Collaborate effectively with physicians, nurses, respiratory therapists, and other members of the interdisciplinary team.
- Participate in daily rounds and multidisciplinary care conferences.
- Provide education and support to patients and their families.
- Maintain accurate and complete medical records.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and research activities.
- Adhere to all hospital policies and procedures, including infection control protocols.
- Specific procedures or skills required: proficiency in intubation, central line placement, arterial line management and thoracentesis.
Job Requirements
- Graduate of an accredited Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant program.
- Current and unrestricted license to practice as a NP or PA in Nevada.
- Certification by the appropriate national certifying body (e.g., ANCC, NCCPA).
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in critical care setting preferred.
- Advanced knowledge of critical care medicine, including hemodynamic monitoring, mechanical ventilation, and shock management.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and teamwork skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency in electronic health record (EHR) systems.
- Certifications in BLS and ACLS
