The posted compensation range of $69.57 - $103.49 /hour is a reasonable estimate that extends from the lowest to the highest pay CommonSpirit in good faith believes it might pay for this particular job, based on the circumstances at the time of posting. As our Director of Cardiovascular and Perioperative Services, Siena Hospital, you will provide strategic and operational leadership to drive excellence across both high-impact service lines. You will serve as a key administrative partner to the Market Vice President, accountable for the financial performance, clinical quality, and strategic growth of these departments. By fostering a culture of innovation and high-quality, patient-centered care, you will align multidisciplinary teams and physician partners to execute service line initiatives that strengthen our market position and ensure operational readiness within our facility.
Every day you will oversee the daily administrative, operational, and clinical functions of cardiovascular and perioperative services, ensuring full compliance with regulatory and accreditation standards. Your routine will involve monitoring quality metrics, optimizing staffing and resource utilization through effective budget management, and implementing evidence-based clinical practices. You will collaborate closely with market operational leaders and sister facilities to share best practices, streamline workflows, and ensure the successful delivery of safe, consistent, and efficient care across the organization.
To be successful in this role, you will hold a Bachelor’s degree in Nursing (BSN), a current Nevada RN license, and valid BLS/ACLS certifications. You must possess at least 10 years of progressive healthcare leadership experience, including a minimum of 5 years managing patient care services within a complex surgical or cardiovascular environment. We are looking for a strategic thinker with a proven track record of physician alignment, operational excellence, and the ability to drive business development while maintaining the highest standards of professional conduct and patient safety.
Key responsibilities:
- Strategic & Operational Leadership: Provides strategic and operational leadership for Cardiovascular and Perioperative Services within the assigned facility.
- Strategic Collaboration & Service Line Growth: Partners closely with the Market Vice President of Strategy, Growth & Operations, Strategy & Business Development, Sales, physicians, and market operational leaders to develop and execute strategic initiatives that strengthen Cardiovascular and Perioperative Services.
- Quality & Compliance Oversight: Ensures departmental competency and compliance with all regulatory, accreditation, and hospital standards governing Cardiovascular and Perioperative Services.
- Fiscal Management & Revenue Enhancement: Develops, manages, and justifies annual operating and capital budgets for Cardiovascular and Perioperative Services.
- Standardization & Innovation: Leads initiatives that promote standardized clinical practices, operational workflows, and evidence-based care throughout Cardiovascular and Perioperative Services.
Job Requirements
Required
- Bachelors of Nursing (BSN), and
- Minimum of ten (10) years of successful and progressive experience in a healthcare system or
hospital, providing or directing patient care activities within surgical and/or cardiovascular services, or - Minimum of five (5) years of leadership experience managing a variety of patient care services in a
complex surgical/cardiovascular/healthcare environment, or - Experience in directing other clinical areas, working closely with physicians, developing clinical
strategies, implementing operational efforts, and measuring outcomes, and - Registered Nurse: NV (RN:NV), and
- Basic Life Support - CPR (BLS-CPR), and
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS)
Preferred
- Masters of Nursing (MSN). For candidates with exceptional experience: Master's s degree in
nursing or related healthcare discipline combined with additional job-related experience in
lieu of degree, or - Medical Degree holders: M.D. or D.O with board certification in surgery or anesthesiology
- Doctor of Medicine: NV (MD:NV), or
- Doctor Osteopathic Medicine: NV (DO:NV)
