The posted compensation range of $68.39 - $68.39 /hour is a reasonable estimate that extends from the lowest to the highest pay CommonSpirit in good faith believes it might pay for this particular job, based on the circumstances at the time of posting. CommonSpirit may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range as permitted by law.

As our Imaging Tech, you will perform a variety of advanced diagnostic and interventional procedures across diverse imaging modalities, under the general direction of departmental leadership.
Every day, you will expertly operate complex imaging equipment, precisely execute imaging protocols, and meticulously monitor patients to ensure their safety and comfort throughout diagnostic and interventional procedures.
To be successful in this role, you will skillfully produce high-quality diagnostic images, collaborate effectively with the medical team, and steadfastly advocate for patient safety and optimal outcomes within the imaging environment.
- Ensures a safe environment related to equipment, bed/cart rails, and mental status.
- Provides nuclear medicine education that includes explanation and rationale for all test, equipment and procedures explaining to patient/parents/caregivers prior to performance.
- Allows control and choices over situations and environment, as appropriate to condition and situation.
- Allows parents/caregivers to hold neonate during nuclear medicine procedure when possible.
- Demonstrates clinical knowledge of expected neonate/infant/ pediatric responses during nuclear medicine procedures.
- Keeps parents/caregivers in field of view.
- Explains all nuclear medicine procedures in language that is age appropriate.
- Approaches child in a calm manner; never leaves child unattended.
- Recognizes that child may view painful procedure as punishment.
- Uses praise as a reward for positive attitudes and behavior. Uses touch as a form of comfort, as appropriate to child's needs, reactions and age.
- Allows for cultural and religious beliefs in providing services.
- Observes for signs of abuse/neglect.
- Facilitates maintenance of body image. Respects privacy and confidentiality.
- Verifies examination orders (including a question regarding pregnancy) and obtains consent according to hospital policy.
- Verifies patient identification according to hospital policy and procedure.
- Uses equipment and film specific to size of the patient.
- Uses appropriate amounts of radiopharmaceutical material according to size and weight of the patient.
- Assesses for basic comfort measures.
- Demonstrates knowledge of anatomy by correctly positioning the patient.
- Provides safety during nuclear medicine procedures. Requests assistance from staff as necessary. Allow parents to be present when appropriate.
- Encourages verbalization of fears and anxiety regarding nuclear medicine procedures, maintains therapeutic communication with patient/family.
- Provides parents/caregivers with education regarding neonate/infant/pediatric nuclear medicine procedures and post procedure care instructions as appropriate.
- Maintains thermoregulations (keeps patient warm).
- Recognizes fear regarding potential life style changes.
- Allows for possible hearing and/or vision loss, speaking in lower, louder tones as necessary; provides all patient instruction slowly, speaking distinctly and assesses for patient understanding. Provides adequate lighting.
- Considers mobility needs, provides appropriate assistance.
- Assesses and monitors potential for skin breakdown; carefully moves patient to prevent skin tears and/or abrasions as appropriate.
Job Requirements
Required
- Must be experienced in operating equipment and evaluating images obtained, including anatomy and pathology so that additional images in varying positions may be obtained if necessary for correct diagnosis.
- One or more years of experience in the modality.
- Registered Technologist Radiography ARRT
- Must have one of the following: registry or certification through the American Registry of Radiologic Technologist RG ARRT, CT ARRT, CT CATTECH, CT MMRT, CT MRITECH, CT XRT or the Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board CT NMT or the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers RG ARDMS.

- Please be advised that this location requires quarterly American Heart Association (AHA) Resuscitation Quality Improvement (RQI) competency certification post-hire.
