Responsibilities

Job Summary:

The primary role of this position is to provide skilled management and strategic leadership functions for the Hospital that results in effective planning, monitoring of the quality of patient care, resource utilization across all departments and service line development. This position provides physician oversight over such activities as Quality Management, patient safety, patient experience, Medical Staff Office, fostering a positive relationship with medical staff and any other duties as assigned. This individual shall assume a facilitative role to assist the President of the medical Staff, its officers, and department chairs in carrying out their responsibilities. Sets policies and procedures and ensures all services meet the objectives of the organization.

Essential Function:

  • Works closely with hospital staff, department directors, and physicians to ensure that the highest standards of quality and service are maintained.
  • Oversees the implementation of quality improvement efforts designed to improve clinical performance and maintain compliance with TJC, HIPAA, and other accreditation standards. Participates in development and implementation of quality initiatives including patient access and satisfaction, provider satisfaction, clinical outcomes and process improvement, and guideline development.
  • Works within the service area network to identify and evaluate outstanding physicians and physician groups for participation in the provider network.
  • Participates in strategic plan and business plan development including identification of strategic partners, growth and resource allocation.
  • Serves as the key financial strategist on the facility's executive team. Develops a relationship of trust and confidence with the Hospital President, Service Area CFO and other senior leaders through common business sense, problem solving, initiative to develop ideas, and to take responsibility. Is accountable for financial operations of the assigned hospital/clinics and achieving hospital/clinics financial goals.
  • Works closely with Optum 360 to maximize the revenue cycle performance.
  • Works closely with Strategy and Service Area Finance on any facility specific Business Plans/Proforma's.
  • Work closely with Internal Audit to identify risk and ensure local facility action plans are implemented on time.
  • Takes lead on Facility Specific Operating Budget. Coordinates with Service Area Finance on complication and timely submission of budget. Provides direction to Department Managers, coordinates the data collection process, leads the facility executive team through the budget decision making and provides technical and analytical support.
  • Takes lead on Facility specific Bridge Plan including driving performance against the bridge plan.
  • Oversees Financial Operations for the DHMG and Stanford Clinics. Responsible for financial planning, reporting and analysis of the clinic operations. Works closely with Clinic Senior Leadership on analyzing operations and future growth.

Qualifications

Minimum:

Education and Experience:

  • Doctor Of Medicine or Doctor Of Osteopathy
  • Minimum of five (5) years of clinical experience in specialty
  • Minimum of five years (5) of management experience in health care.
  • Primary Care and Speciality Clinic Preferred

Additional Education:

  • Bachelors Other Business Administration from an accredited university with an emphasis in accounting, finance or related field.
  • Masters Degree- Business Administration or Healthcare Administration preferred

Licensure:

  • Doctor of Medicine: NV (MD:NV) or Doctor Osteopathic Medicine: NV (DO:NV)
  • Certified Public Accountant: NV (CPA:NV) Preferred
