The posted compensation range of $52.96 - $72.30 /hour is a reasonable estimate that extends from the lowest to the highest pay CommonSpirit in good faith believes it might pay for this particular job, based on the circumstances at the time of posting. CommonSpirit may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range as permitted by law.

Job Summary and Responsibilities

As our Nurse Float Pool Emergency Services, you will help adult and pediatric patients experiencing acute medical needs receive compassionate, high-quality, and efficient emergency care so they can achieve optimal health outcomes and a safe recovery.

Every day you will be expected to employ critical thinking to assess, diagnose, plan, implement, and evaluate nursing care for diverse patient populations in the Emergency Department and Psych Hold areas. You will be expected to integrate objective data with the subjective experiences of patients, apply evidence-based practice, and continuously evaluate the quality and effectiveness of your nursing interventions.

To be successful in this role, you must possess strong critical thinking skills and comprehensive knowledge of emergency nursing practices to deliver patient-centered care effectively with this information

  • The registered nurse completes initial patient assessment and reassessments as indicated by patient condition, and assures practices comply with human resources, policies/procedures, and professional standards.
  • The registered nurse demonstrates critical thinking by implementing the nursing process (assessment, diagnosis, planning, implementation, and evaluation) and using logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions or approaches to problems, and assures practices comply with human resources, policies/procedures, and professional standards.
  • The registered nurse has the physical ability to safely and effectively care for patient population assigned and assures practices comply with human resources, policies/procedures, and professional standards.
  • The registered nurse manages medication administration and intravenous (IV) access according to physician's orders and assures practices comply with human resources, policies/procedures, and professional standards.
  • The registered nurse documents nursing care and patient status in accordance with the nursing process and assures practices comply with human resources, policies/procedures, and professional standards.
  • This position is represented by CNA and is covered by the terms and conditions of the applicable collective bargaining agreement.


Job Requirements

Required:

  • Two (2) years’ experience as an RN in the Emergency Department

  • Graduate of an accredited school of nursing

  • Active RN license in good standing with the Nevada State Board of Nursing

  • Basic Life Support Certification-American Heart Association-AHA

  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support Certification-American Heart Association-AHA

  • Pediatric Advanced Life Support Certification-American Heart Association-AHA, (Required within 6 months of hire)

  • TNCC Certification- Trauma Nurse Core Course (Required within 6 months of hire)

  • NIHSS Stroke Certification-NIH Stroke-AM Stroke ASC-Nat'l-Training upon hire/transfer

  • Please be advised that this location requires quarterly American Heart Association (AHA) Resuscitation Quality Improvement (RQI) competency certification post-hire. This ongoing competency is required through resources internal to the facility; outside RQI competency resources are not acceptable for CommonSpirit Health compliance requirements.

Preferred:

  • Float Pool experience

  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing.

  • Certification in specialty area
