The posted compensation range of $34.00 - $50.58 /hour is a reasonable estimate that extends from the lowest to the highest pay CommonSpirit in good faith believes it might pay for this particular job, based on the circumstances at the time of posting. CommonSpirit may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range as permitted by law.
Under the direction of the Medical Staff Director, effectively and efficiently supervises the medical staff office functions and performs a variety of administrative duties which includes, but is not limited to: credentialing, meeting support, and process development which require a substantial knowledge of regulatory compliance and hospital and Medical Staff Services policies and procedures. Able to function in a supervisory role for the both campuses if necessary.
- Ensures the supervisory function of the specific campus Medical Staff Services department. With the assistance of the Department Director, keeps abreast of all accreditation standards, legal requirements, hospital bylaws, and Medical staff Bylaws, Rules and Regulations.
- Assists the Director in maintaining the department's policies and procedures, objectives, quality assurance program and safety standards.
- Maintains close communication with the Director to ensure follow-through in change of hospital policies and/or committee actions.
- Daily supervision of employees including ensuring that all employees are informed of current policies and procedures and that these policies are consistently followed.
- Practices and encourages cost effectiveness as it applies to use of work force, supplies, time and overall department operations. Recommends areas for improvement in quality, efficiency and effectiveness.
- Assists in developing employee and departmental goals.
- Oversees the assembling of material for reports and agenda development of Medical Staff meetings and ensures minutes are transcribed to comply with JCAHO standards. Meeting support may include Credentialing Committee, General Medical Staff, Medical Executive meetings and Medical Staff related functions.
- Active in the processing of medical staff and allied health professional reappointments and ensuring the staff is maintaining the defined process in an appropriate time frame.
Job Requirements
Minimum:
- Minimum four(4) years experience in an Acute Care Hospital Medical Staff Office including credentialing responsibilities.
- Strong background in Medical Staff Office processes and credentialing.
- High School GED
- Computer training to include Microsoft Office (Word and Excel, Outlook), database management, business courses (i.e. English, oCmmunications).
Preferred:
- Bachelors In related field or equivalent experience.
- Medical Terminology course is helpful.
- One year of supervisory/mentoring experience.
