The posted compensation range of $27.43 - $40.80 /hour is a reasonable estimate that extends from the lowest to the highest pay CommonSpirit in good faith believes it might pay for this particular job, based on the circumstances at the time of posting. CommonSpirit may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range as permitted by law.

As our Supervisor, HIM, you will plan, supervise, and assess the daily activities of assigned health information management staff. You will ensure that pulling, scanning, sorting, indexing, prepping, delivering, and releasing health information is carried out efficiently, in compliance with internal policies, and meets regulatory standards. Managing multiple locations, you will coordinate daily operations to meet customer needs and adhere to established organizational objectives.
Every day, you will guide team performance by hiring and training staff, scheduling and evaluating workflow, and addressing operational concerns. You will also participate in cross-departmental collaborations, attend site-based meetings, escalate issues appropriately, and recommend or implement process improvements. You will bring attention to detail, problem-solving skills, and regulatory knowledge to maintain high-quality, compliant operations.
Success in this role requires strong leadership, critical thinking, and exceptional communication skills. Through strategic planning, timely decision-making, and consistent collaboration with leadership, you will help maintain effective, compliant workflows that support our commitment to accurate and secure health information management.
- Supervises request desk for telephone request (physicians, hospitals, clinics), walk in visitors and chart specific security request, Maintains spreadsheet.
- Directly Supervises Prep, Scan, and Quality Review for Loose Sheets and Weekend Emergency Room Records.
- Supervises Thin Record File Room operations, Maintains spreadsheet.
- Performs quality checks to ensure records are thinned according to policy and procedures.
- Communicate with managers outside the department to resolve issues regarding thinned records.
- Maintains off‐site storage inventory, interacting with storage vendors.
Job Requirements
- Master's degree and one (1) year of experience OR
- HS/GED and three (3) years of experience
