The posted compensation range of $19.44 - $27.45 /hour is a reasonable estimate that extends from the lowest to the highest pay CommonSpirit in good faith believes it might pay for this particular job, based on the circumstances at the time of posting. CommonSpirit may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range as permitted by law.

Job Summary and Responsibilities
The Assistant Teacher is responsible for aiding in planning, preparing and delivering lesson plans, special activities and provocations that facilitate active learning consistent with the philosophies and objectives of CHI St. Joseph Children’s Health.
  • Assist lead teacher in the delivery of quality program, support and services for children and families accessing the childcare and early childhood education programs of CHI St. Joseph Children’s Health.
  • Aid in planning, preparing and delivering lesson plans, special activities and provocations that facilitate active learning consistent with the philosophies and objectives of CHI St. Joseph Children’s Health.
  • Support in preparing and maintaining a safe, healthy, inviting, nurturing and engaging environment for all children, families, and colleagues.
  • Maintain positive and proactive approaches to discipline and student behavior in accordance with the behavior policy, plans and mindful philosophies endorsed by CHI St. Joseph Children’s Health.
  • Support the Lead Teacher in maintaining and regularly communicating accurate and complete records to students, colleagues and parents regarding students' progress, development, and needs as appropriate.
  • Assist in updating all necessary records accurately and completely on students and activities as required by laws, policies and school regulations.

Job Requirements
Required
  • High School Graduate General Studies, upon hire or
  • High School GED General Studies, upon hire and
  • Experience with mentoring and supervising youth within a recreational or educational setting, upon hire
  • Basic Life Support - CPR, within 30 Days and
  • First Aid, within 30 Days

Preferred
  • Other Enrollment in college-level coursework, upon hire and
  • Associate Of Arts AA degree or completion of 60 college-level semester units preferred, upon hire and
  • Fire Safety, within 30 Days and
