The posted compensation range of $16.42 - $23.19 /hour is a reasonable estimate that extends from the lowest to the highest pay CommonSpirit in good faith believes it might pay for this particular job, based on the circumstances at the time of posting. CommonSpirit may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range as permitted by law.

Job Summary and Responsibilities

Job Summary

The Imaging Assistant works under the supervision of the technologists and/or Centralized Scheduling Department Supervisor to assist in the preparation and performance of patient procedures and exams. The Imaging Assistant in the imaging centers are responsible for transporting or guiding patients within the confines of the imaging center. Imaging Assistants are to gather and compile patient histories, priors and pertinent information relating to the patient visit. Imaging Assistants are responsible for distribution and release of patient images/imaging reports to outside requesting facilities. Duties for this position vary slightly from one modality to another depending on the nature of the specific modality and center needs. May be required to occasionally work at other locations as needed.

Essential Functions

(IMAGING CENTERS)-PATIENT TRANSPORTATION ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS INCLUDE, BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:

1. Transports patients to and from clinical and support areas via wheelchair or stretcher.

2. Ensures proper patient identification and location.

3. Transports patient chart with patient.

4. Performs isolation and infection control techniques when required.

5. Properly handles patient support apparatus during transportation. Assists as requested during patient examinations.

REALEASE OF INFORMATION AND PATIENT IMAGING RECORDS:

1. Gathers appropriate information to release medical records.

2. Efficiently uploads and burns of images to CD.

3. Provides patient histories to imaging centers in a timely manner.

4. Efficiently processes and distributes imaging records to requesting facilities

5. Consistently updates physician distribution list.

6. Inputting patients medical history in information systems, ie; MERGE, PACS, MRS.

PROVIDES EXCELLENT CUSTOMER SERVICE:

2. Completely explains examination procedure or instruction to the patient in a clear, pleasant, and professional manner.

3. Exam rooms are consistently stocked and cleaned.

HS Degree or equivelant 

Previous healthcare experience and/or experience with Picture Archive COmmunication (PAC) strongly preferred
