The posted compensation range of $35.53 - $52.85 /hour is a reasonable estimate that extends from the lowest to the highest pay CommonSpirit in good faith believes it might pay for this particular job, based on the circumstances at the time of posting. Job Summary and Responsibilities

As a Cardiovascular Technologist, you will be at the forefront of cardiac care, utilizing cutting-edge imaging technology to directly impact life-saving diagnostic and interventional procedures.

Every day, you will expertly perform specialized interventional diagnostic and therapeutic examinations of the heart and blood vessels under physician guidance, meticulously preparing patients, operating advanced radiologic equipment, and contributing critical data for interpretation. You'll ensure the safe, efficient operation of all equipment while maintaining mastery of our latest standards and protocols.

To be successful in this role, you will combine advanced technical proficiency in cardiovascular imaging with a meticulous eye for detail, a commitment to patient safety, and a drive for continuous learning within a dynamic and collaborative Cath Lab team.

  • Patient Assessment
    Able to examine labs and H&P to determine complications that may arise during the case.
    Determines the need for restraint devices needed for patient safety or patient positioning.
    Recognizes changes in hemodynamics, ECG, and pulse oximetry.
    Recognizes changes in patient condition during course of procedure.
    Determines if current medications, past procedures, future scheduled procedures, or medical history could impact the plan of care and bringing this information to the attention of the physician.
  • Documentation
    Accurately documents procedures performed in the Cath and EP Lab.
    Ensures that supplies, drugs used during the procedure, and procedure types are accurately documented.
    Ensures that hemodynamic data and electrophysiological measurements obtained during the procedure are correctly archived.
    Completes IRIS documentation for issues that fall outside the standard of care.
    Ensures all images obtained during the procedure are correctly archived.
    Able to provide technical assistance to other coworkers with documentation issues.
    Examines patients chart to determine appropriate documentation is present.
  • Communication
    Maintains a professional demeanor in interactions with coworkers, patients, and physicians.
    Communicates issues of concern to physician or chain of command as appropriate for the issue.
    Able to coordinate care with diverse departments and assist with giving report to receiving nurse.
    Communicates clearly with patients of all ages, peers, and others in order to complete the hospital/physician plan of patient care.
    Notifies the patient’s attending physician or Cardiologist/Electrophysiologist of any patient issues that affect the plan of patient care.
    Assists with ensuring other coworkers are aware of new policies/procedures.
  • Procedures
    Provides appropriate patient care during the performance of Cath and EP procedures.
    Ensures quality of imaging, image archival, and image acquisition.
    Ensures radiation safety practices are used for patients and personnel.
    Demonstrates proper working knowledge of sterile technique.
    Preparing patients for procedures with proper skin preparation, correctly attaching ECG, pulse oximetry, and blood pressure cuff.
    Acquires supplies and sets up sterile fields.
    Knowledgeable of specialty equipment set up and operation.
    Ensures hemostasis after procedures.
    Transports patients to and from the Cath/EP lab as needed.
    Participates in structural heart procedures (Trans Aortic Valve Replacement (TAVR), MitraClip, and/or Watchman).
    Must cross-train in two of the following areas: Cath🡪EP, EP🡪Cath room.

Job Requirements

Required

  • 5 years clinical experience in the CardiacCath lab/EP lab with advanced training in associated procedures.
  • Medical Radiographer: AR, upon hire and
  • Registered Technologist Radiography ARRT, upon hire or
  • Registered Cardiac Electr, upon hire or
  • Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist, upon hire or
  • Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer, upon hire and
  • Basic Life Support - CPR, within 90 Days and
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support, within 6 - months
