The posted compensation range of $192.95 - $270.13 /hour is a reasonable estimate that extends from the lowest to the highest pay CommonSpirit in good faith believes it might pay for this particular job, based on the circumstances at the time of posting. CommonSpirit may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range as permitted by law.

Job Summary and Responsibilities

Serves at the executive level, and responsible for developing and implementing strategic objectives and goals, allocating and managing capital and general day-to-day operational accountability across the Market. Market President is responsible for the strategic planning, operations, profit and loss (P&L), employee & provider engagement, and support services within the market. Has direct line authority over facility presidents overseeing 4 hospitals, (St Vincent Infirmary, St Vincent North, St Vincent Hot Springs, and St Vincent Morrilton) Physician Enterprise, and Heart Clinic Arkansas.

  • Position will be responsible for producing exceptionally high employee engagement. Will be responsible for the overall goal of increasing organizational effectiveness and revenues for assigned areas, developing annual operating budgets for those areas and accountable for operating within established budgets.
  • Responsible for maintaining productivity standards for areas of direct responsibility and assuring availability of sufficient competent staff to meet workload needs of departments.
  • Has the authority and responsibility for meeting the bottom lines of quality and financial performance for the areas of accountability.
  • Responsible for ensuring customer loyalty as measured by patient satisfaction greater than the 75th percentile and other indicators, and will also assure compliance with standards promulgated by regulatory and compliance agencies. Will develop and maintain collaborative physician relations that build on their key roles as both partners and customers. Position will report to the SVP of the South Region.

Essential Functions

  • Participates in decision-making processes by collaborating with leaders from the governing body, health system management, hospital leadership council, medical staff and clinical areas in ensuring each hospital's strategic plans, budgets, resource allocation, operational plans and policies are met and achieved.
  • Develops long-range strategic plans for delivering health care in relationship to government and other health planning agencies.
  • Assures patient care needs are met by developing a comprehensive delivery system at St Vincent.
  • Ensures the conservative use of physical and financial assets.  Monitors financial performance and recommends and/or initiates needed action.
  • Reviews annual operating budget and long-range capital expenditures plans for all network partner organizations. Maximizes operational efficiency.  
  • Consistently assesses need and develops partnerships both internally and externally with other groups or organizations to further the mission of the System.
  • Provides leadership and ensures successful governance-management interface with the St Vincent Board of Directors.
  • Promotes the image of St Vincent Health System by representing the organization in the civic and business community.
  • Monitors patient satisfaction, productivity, financial and utilization information for St Vincent. Provides for thorough and complete dissemination, interpretation, and administration of St Vincent’s policies in order to establish an environment within which leadership can lead effectively.
  • Provides for the proper delegation of authority and responsibility throughout the organization. Recommends changes in organizational arrangements which better facilitate the achievement of organization objectives.
  • Directs, counsels, and advises leaders in day to day operational management, and assures any differences that may arise are resolved. Ensures that an adequate organization structure is in place to accommodate effective operations.
  • Ensures the recruitment and retention of competent, appropriate staff at adequate staffing levels. Appraises the performance and progress of the organization through effective controls and reports of organizational activities and with management staff initiatives action where required.
  • Maintains a system for evaluating the performance of the system on a periodic and systematic basis. Provides for review, revision and recommendations of the organizational bylaws as well as policies governing their activities.
  • Pursues a continuing program of personal development. Fosters an environment which respects human dignity, protects human rights, and promotes human development to actualize the values and philosophy of CHI. 
  • Assures all St Vincent activities are directed toward the achievement of the mission and values of the organization.
  • Performs any other duty that may be necessary in the best interest of the organization to provide for quality in patient care and exercises such other powers as determined by the Board of Directors or the President of South Region.

Job Requirements

Minimum Qualifications


● Masters in health administration, MBA, or related field is required.
● At least 5 years at a Senior or Executive leadership role in a healthcare setting
