Supervisor, Healthy Families
The posted compensation range of $36.00 - $42.26 /hour is a reasonable estimate that extends from the lowest to the highest pay CommonSpirit in good faith believes it might pay for this particular job, based on the circumstances at the time of posting. The Healthy Families America (HFA) Clinical Supervisor will supervise and support employees that visit Healthy Families America high risk families in the home, in a manner that supports the mission of Families in Good Health (FiGH) and the philosophy of the Healthy Families America (HFA) Program. The HFA Clinical Supervisor will work closely with the HFA Program Manager to develop and assess documentation, training, procedures and policies and overall structure of the HFA program.
The HFA Clinical Supervisor will be responsible for modeling empathy through all aspects of supervision with employees; supporting and supervising HFA Family Support Specialist (FSS) to ensure that they are providing empathetic and client-centered services for clients; supporting and training employees on identifying client strengths, needs, barriers and risks and providing community resources for those needs; consulting with program staff on high risk clinical issues; and developing relationships with regional Welcome Baby hospitals to promote the HFA Program and provide a continuum of care. The HFA Clinical Supervisor will provide recommendations for hiring and termination of program staff, as appropriate.
The HFA Clinical Supervisor will work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team as wellas with a diverse and high risk population. In addition, the HFA Clinical Supervisor will supervise HFA Family Support Specialist and facilitate administrative, clinical, and reflective supervision, which will include: (1) Provide empathetic support and feedback regarding employee's views, concerns and challenges with clients; (2) Tracking staff's progress with clients; (3) Suggesting additional resources, referrals and strategies for supporting clients; and (4) Discussing any performance issues or concerns.
The HFA Clinical Supervisor will follow HFA protocols and any other protocols developed by grant funders and will complete other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Minimum of two years experience in supervision. A solid understanding of or experience in supervising diverse staff with humility, as well as providing support to staff in stressful work environments. Experience in reflective and clinical supervision preferred.
- Bachelor’s Degree with 3 years of relevant experience, or less than a bachelor’s degree but with commensurate HFA experience. Master’s degree in human services or fields related to working with children and families preferred.
- Knowledge of infant and child development, parent-child attachment, parent-infant health and dynamics of child abuse and neglect.
- Experience with family services that embraces the concepts of family-centered and strength-based service provision.
- Experience supporting culturally diverse communities/families with home visits, and a strong background in early childhood prevention service.
- Willingness to engage in building reflective practice (e.g., capacity for introspection, communicating awareness of self in relation to others, recognizing
value of supervision, etc.)
- Infant mental health endorsement preferred (if available in the state; if unsure, you can find out on the IMH website)
- Knowledge of health care and issues affecting the delivery of health care to families.
- Proficiency with computer software programs/applications such as Microsoft Office & Google Workspace (as well
as computer data entry skills preferred).
