The posted compensation range of $37.24 - $55.39 /hour is a reasonable estimate that extends from the lowest to the highest pay CommonSpirit in good faith believes it might pay for this particular job, based on the circumstances at the time of posting. CommonSpirit may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range as permitted by law.

Job Summary and Responsibilities


The Mental Health Clinician provides high quality outpatient mental health services and in-home counseling for children and their families. Supervised by a licensed clinical supervisor in accordance with the rules and regulations of the Board of Behavioral Science Examiners, you willl contribue to our dynamic Behavioral Health Assissment Team by providing virtual mental health support.  Demonstrated professional skills in diagnosis and assessment, case management, treatment planning, psychotherapy, and utilization review. The Mental Health Clinician will provide outpatient mental health services in the form of individual, child and family therapy, groups, and home-based child welfare services. Operates in accordance with all regulations and standards of the State of California Board of Behavioral Science Examiners, the Los Angeles County Department of Mental Health, and the Department of Child and Family Services.  Every day you will assess and intervene with individuals experiencing mental health needs, collaborating with various team members to facilitate appropriate care.

To be successful in this role, you will possess strong clinical judgment, a compassionate approach, and the ability to work effectively in a virtual healthcare environment.

  • Conducts in home counseling visits, psychotherapy sessions, case management and comprehensive assessments as per contract requirements and displaying knowledge of psychopathology and good treatment/intervention technique.
  • Co-leads one or more therapeutic or support groups for clients as per agency need.
  • Attends and participates in TDM's, MCPC meetings, and IEP's in order to assist with determining a comprehensive plan for the child/children involved in the referral.
  • Completes a comprehensive assessment of the needs of each family member and in collaboration with an inter-
    agency/inter-disciplinary team, develops a family service plan which addresses family needs and child safety issues.
  • Facilities and monitors child/family progress toward goal attainment and child safety as per the service plan.
  • Provides referrals, advocacy, support, and accompaniment to various social service agencies as needed.

Job Requirements

Required

  • A minimum of one year's experience in an academic internship delivering child welfare and outpatient mental health services.
  • M.A. degree in Social Work, Psychology or related field
  • Valid registration with the CA Board of Behavioral Science Examiners as an Associate Marriage and Family Therapist, Associate Social Worker, Associate
    Professional Clinical Counselor, or registration with the Board of Psychology as a Registered Psychologist within 45 days of employment
  • LCSW, LSW, or LMFT/C within 60 days of employment 
  • Fire Safety within 90 Days
