The posted compensation range of $36.00 - $50.89 /hour is a reasonable estimate that extends from the lowest to the highest pay CommonSpirit in good faith believes it might pay for this particular job, based on the circumstances at the time of posting. Job Summary and Responsibilities

The Senior Public Health Research Associate is responsible for leading the strategic planning, implementation, and evaluation of technical assistance initiatives for community-based organizations, hospitals, and public health, health care, and social service providers focused on improving pregnancy and infancy outcomes. This position requires advanced expertise in conducting needs and assets assessments, project management, research, evaluation, statistical analysis, and evidence-based practices. This position will take on a leadership role in guiding junior staff, overseeing programmatic activities, and proactively identifying opportunities for new projects and creative solutions to address technical assistance needs. This role requires strong problem-solving skills, adaptability, project management experience, and the ability to cultivate relationships with key stakeholders. The Senior Public Health Research Associate operates independently in community settings and must be able to travel throughout Los Angeles County.

  • Technical Assistance and Program Support
  • Serve as a primary point of contact for grantees, responding to real-time technical assistance needs with timely and practical solutions.
  • Develop, update, and maintain protocols to support programmatic consistency and alignment with evidence-based best practices.
  • Provide ongoing guidance to home visiting programs to ensure program fidelity, quality improvement, and operational efficiency.
  • Collaborate with network partners to design creative and innovative solutions to program challenges.
  • Facilitate rapid response support for partners facing implementation barriers, offering tailored technical assistance and resource development.

Job Requirements
  • Bachelors in Public Health with a focus in Maternal and Child Health, Epidemiology, Behavioral Science, Nursing, or similar field and Three (3+) years related work experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Masters in Public Health, Maternal and Child Health, Epidemiology, Behavioral Science, Community Health, Early Childhood, or a related field and Two (2+) years of related work experience
  • Coursework in Maternal and Child Health, biostatistics, data management, research methods, program evaluation, health policy, community health, epidemiology, or equivalent experience. Minimum 4 yrs. work experience in public health or community-based research setting or equivalent academic achievement
  • Fire Safety, within 90 Days
