The posted compensation range of $47.52 - $70.68 /hour is a reasonable estimate that extends from the lowest to the highest pay CommonSpirit in good faith believes it might pay for this particular job, based on the circumstances at the time of posting. CommonSpirit may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range as permitted by law.
As our Director, Medical Staff Services, you will provide essential leadership and strategic direction for medical staff services, focusing on credentialing, privileging, and regulatory compliance.
Every day you will manage and standardize credentialing and privileging processes across the system, ensuring strict compliance with all regulatory and accreditation requirements. You will lead operational alignment and standardization efforts for medical staff functions, while also developing staff education and support solutions.
To be successful in this role, you will possess exceptional leadership, organizational, and communication skills, coupled with extensive expertise in medical staff services and regulatory compliance. Your ability to drive system-wide standardization and manage complex projects within a large healthcare system will be critical.
- Evaluates the hospital practice and privileges of all members seeking reappointment to the medical staff/Allied Health categories.
- Provides a vehicle to improve quality via the medical staff committee process and by maintaining records of all medical staff committees
- Contributes to efficient and cost-effective operation of the Medical Staff Service by monitoring and planning for budgets and expenses.
- Promotes medical staff compliance with regulatory and accreditation agencies by continuously monitoring the operations of the hospital Medical Staff Office and effectively initiating change when needed.
- As a member of the hospital management team, participates in the planning, decision making and implementation process for new hospital initiatives. Continually evaluate existing programs and recommend/implement revisions, modifications and improvements. Develop, implement and monitor departmental objectives, which add business value and support other hospital-wide objectives. Maintains staff and personal competence as required.
- Monitors and controls the enforcement of the Medical Staff Bylaws, Rules and Regulations and updates the bylaws as needed. Directs new physicians through the orientation process. Participate in and/or lead teams and Performance Improvement activities and support staff in organization-wide teams.
Job Requirements
Required
- Minimum of five (5) years of experience in a Medical Staff office, with at least one (1) year in a supervisory capacity, or a comparable combination of education and experience and
- Prof Medical Services Manager, within 12 - months or
- Certified Provider Credentialing Specialist, within 12 - months
Preferred
- Bachelors Other Bachelor's degree in business administration or related health or management field preferred or ability to obtain within a period of time agreed upon by supervisor., upon hire
