The posted compensation range of $15.67 - $22.14 /hour is a reasonable estimate that extends from the lowest to the highest pay CommonSpirit in good faith believes it might pay for this particular job, based on the circumstances at the time of posting. As our Environmental Services Technician, you will be a vital member of our healthcare team, ensuring a safe, hygienic, and aesthetically pleasing environment at Community Memorial Hospital. This entry-level healthcare support role is perfect for individuals passionate about infection prevention and contributing to exceptional patient experience. You'll play a key role in maintaining cleanliness standards and supporting efficient hospital operations.
Every day you will perform crucial cleaning and disinfection tasks in patient care areas, contributing directly to hospital hygiene and infection control. You'll manage supplies, handle waste responsibly following regulatory requirements, and adhere strictly to HIPAA and safety guidelines. From operating EVS equipment to performing room turnovers, your work will directly impact patient and staff well-being, utilizing your critical thinking skills to maintain our high standards of care.
To be successful in this role, you should possess a strong ability to understand and differentiate between disinfection levels, operate various cleaning equipment, and communicate effectively. A commitment to safety protocols, organizational standards, and personal accountability is essential for this support services position, which involves heavy work and frequent physical demands related to object movement and various physical activities.
Essential Functions
- Execute daily cleaning and disinfection: This directly addresses the core function of maintaining a hygienic and safe environment for patients and staff.
- Adhere to infection prevention and safety protocols: Emphasizes the critical importance of preventing illness and ensuring a secure workplace.
- Manage waste and supplies according to regulations: Highlights responsibility for environmental compliance and resource management.
- Contribute to patient experience through environmental upkeep: Connects the technician's work directly to patient well-being and satisfaction, a key healthcare metric.
- Operate EVS equipment and perform room turnovers efficiently: Shows the practical, hands-on nature of the role and its impact on hospital flow.
We are offering a $1,500 Sign-on Bonus to new hires who meet the eligibility requirements.
Job Requirements
Preferred:
- High School Graduate General Studies upon hire and Previous healthcare experience or
- High School GED General Studies upon hire and Previous healthcare experience
