The posted compensation range of $24.00 - $29.78 /hour is a reasonable estimate that extends from the lowest to the highest pay CommonSpirit in good faith believes it might pay for this particular job, based on the circumstances at the time of posting. Job Summary:
Provides Medical direction and administrative leadership for the physician and mid-level staff within the Dignity Health East Valley Urgent cares. Collaborates with the Administrative Site Director of the Urgent Cares to meet fiscal, quality, and patient safety expectations. Provides direct patient care as volume and staffing levels require.
Key Job Responsibilities:
- Provides Medical direction and administrative leadership for the physician and mid-level staff within the Dignity Health East Valley Urgent cares. Collaborates with the Administrative Site Director of the Urgent Cares to meet fiscal, quality, and patient safety expectations. Provides direct patient care as volume and staffing levels require.
- Ensures adequate provider staffing by scheduling coverage for expected volumes. Responsible for addressing staffing challenges due to patient volume surges, unexpected shift openings and other urgent needs.
- Provides decision support to the medical and clinical staff that is in the best interest of the patients, adhering to regulatory and quality expectations and facility needs.
- Monitors and evaluates the quality and appropriateness of urgent care services provided by individual physicians. Works with urgent care staff to assess, develop plans, and evaluate quality issues in Urgent Care.
- Participates in the customer communication process to resolve patient care issues in a timely fashion
- Responsible for interviewing and selecting physician staff and continued performance evaluation and development of physicians on staff. Administers coaching and corrective action in accordance with policy.
- Regularly Attends and serves on councils, committees, and department level meetings as required and requested.
- Together with the Site Director, is accountable for meeting quality standards, financial goals, budget, and productivity goals of the Urgent Care Center. Assures that clinic operations meet all regulatory standards,
including but not limited to AZ DHS, Environment of Care, Joint Commission, and CMS compliance. - Collaborates with the Site Director to develop, review, and revise department policies, scope of service, and Clinical protocols
- Responds to after-hours security calls related to the clinics, ensuring proper coordination with security personnel and law enforcement as necessary.
- Collaborates with medical staff services to provide support for ongoing professional practice evaluations, credentialing, or other items impacting the Urgent Care provider staff.
- Collaborates with the physician enterprise to support efforts within the medical group, aligned physician practices, and medical education programs.
Qualifications
Education and Experience:
- Leadership and patient care experience in an Urgent Care clinic or Emergency Department. Knowledge of federal and state policies Regarding medical care, e.g. EMTALA, patient rights, etc.
- Board certified/Board eligible in Emergency Medicine or Family Practice, or any other specialty plus one (1) year experience in an acute setting that includes pediatric or adult patient care.
Licensure:
- AZ: MD or AZ: DO
- American Heart Association BLS-CPR, ACLS; PALS
- DEA
