The posted compensation range of $17.24 - $24.35 /hour is a reasonable estimate that extends from the lowest to the highest pay CommonSpirit in good faith believes it might pay for this particular job, based on the circumstances at the time of posting. As our Cardiac Monitor Specialist, you will serve as a critical guardian of patient safety, directly impacting the well-being of individuals by providing continuous observation of cardiac rhythms. Your expertise will be vital in identifying and reporting significant ECG patterns, ensuring timely intervention by nursing personnel.
Every day you will include providing continuous observation of monitored ECG patterns for all patients on telemetry. This encompasses meticulously monitoring within a designated area, maintaining close vigilance over patient cardiac activity. You will be responsible for promptly responding to all detected alarms, accurately assessing the significance of ECG changes, and reporting critical information to appropriate nursing personnel. Your role requires effective collaboration with a diverse care team, and you will consistently adhere to all policies and procedures of the department and organization, ensuring the highest standards of patient monitoring and care.
To succeed in this role, you must possess strong observational skills, exceptional attention to detail, and an unwavering commitment to patient safety and accurate cardiac monitoring. Your professional demeanor, dedication, and proactive approach are essential for fostering effective teamwork, ensuring timely communication of critical information, and supporting optimal patient outcomes through vigilant cardiac surveillance.
- Continuous observation of monitored ECG patterns and pulse oximetry as ordered. Sets up, calibrates and maintains settings and alarms on the telemetry module. Obtains rhythm strip at beginning of shift, on admission and whenever changes occur.
- Recognizes changes in rate, rhythm or pattern and obtains a documentary ECG strip; immediately reports all arrhythmias to the care team responsible for the patient in accordance with established protocols.
- Handles incoming and outgoing communications, answers questions and assists staff in accordance with established procedures.
- Maintains current knowledge of the technical operation and capabilities of the central monitoring station;
- Maintains alarm systems according to established protocols and responds appropriately to monitor alarms;
- Identifies/troubleshoots routine technical problems with the monitors and sends work orders.

- Basic Life Support - CPR, within 90 Days
