The posted compensation range of $20.86 - $29.46 /hour is a reasonable estimate that extends from the lowest to the highest pay CommonSpirit in good faith believes it might pay for this particular job, based on the circumstances at the time of posting. CommonSpirit may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range as permitted by law.

Job Summary and Responsibilities

As our Foodservice Coordinator, you'll play an important leadership role in ensuring our Food and Nutrition Services team delivers exceptional service to patients, visitors, and staff. By coordinating daily operations, supporting team members, and promoting quality and efficiency, you'll help create a positive dining experience while contributing to the overall patient experience.

Every day you will oversee departmental operations, coordinate staffing, and collaborate with clinical and support teams to ensure seamless foodservice delivery across patient, retail, and catering areas. You'll monitor service quality, support food safety initiatives, and help maintain a well-organized department that consistently meets operational and patient care goals.

  • Coordinate daily foodservice operations by organizing workflow, delegating responsibilities, and supporting team performance to maximize efficiency.
  • Develop and maintain staff schedules while collaborating with leaders to ensure appropriate coverage for clinical, retail, and catering operations.
  • Monitor departmental operations, including opening and closing procedures, food safety compliance, production reporting, and quality assurance activities.
  • Conduct patient rounds, respond to patient and staff feedback, and partner with nursing teams to support individualized nutritional needs and service excellence.
  • Maintain departmental records, monitor operational metrics, and support strategic initiatives that enhance quality, productivity, and customer satisfaction.

Job Requirements

Required:

  • Two (2) years of foodservice experience or one (1) year of hospital nutrition experience.
  • ServSafe Food Protection Manager certification upon hire.
  • ServSafe Allergen certification within 60 days of hire.
  • Registered Dietitian (RD) or Certified Dietary Manager (CDM) certification within 24 months of hire.

Preferred:

  • Associate degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Additional Food Safety Requirements:

  • Food Handler Permit (FHP) must be obtained within 30 days of hire, or sooner if required by state or local regulations.
  • Additional state or local food safety certifications may be required based on work location, including ANSI-approved Food Handler certifications, ServSafe, or jurisdiction-specific permits.
