Responsibilities

Market Director-NE/IA, all Cirtical Access, Bismark

The Market Director Employee  Health is responsible for the efficient and effective operations of the Employee Health Department of the assigned market.  The incumbent is responsible for development, implementation, management, and continuous improvement of all Employee Health Services in accordance with professional standards and applicable regulatory/accreditation requirements.  The Market Director Employee Health will ensure clinical excellence, fiscal stewardship, customer satisfaction, strategic planning and growth in alignment with the mission, vision and values of CommonSpirit Health.   The individual in this position will proactively collaborate with other leaders across the organization, including other Employee Health leaders, Region CHRO, HR Market VP, Infection Prevention, Workers’ Compensation, Physicians, Medical Review Officers, CMO, etc. to ensure continuity in knowledge and understanding of CDC and OSHA guidelines, along with other pertinent regulatory and/or legal requirements or recommendations.

  • Directs the Employee Health facility leaders and team members and provides strategic oversight for Employee Health while overseeing the Workers Compensation team within the market (if applicable). Coaches, mentors, and evaluates Employee Health leaders and staff to promote employee engagement, development and success. 
  • Provides operational leadership for one or more Employee Health Departments at the facility level as applicable.
  • Participates in strategic planning. Establishes, prioritizes and implements tactical plans to meet strategic goals, including new and expanded services for program growth and enhancement based on customer needs, research findings, and industry trends in collaboration with market and regional HR leadership.
  • Effectively collaborates with peers, participates in monthly Employee Health Council meetings, and shares pertinent information/ideas to help ensure efficiency and continuity in Employee Health across the organization.
  • Tracks key Employee Health and Workers’ Compensation indicators where applicable (i.e.  needlestick injuries, ESSER, ergonomic-related injuries, etc) and establishes market action plans in collaboration with other key stakeholders including those related to quality improvement initiatives (e.g., safe patient handling and mobility, etc.).
  • Collaborates with the Talent Acquisition or Human Resources Onboarding team to optimize the new employee experience, identifying opportunities for improvement, leveraging technology and creative solutions while overseeing Employee Health pre-placement requirements as part of the pre-boarding process. 
  • Manages Employee Health programs (e.g., ergonomics, pre-placement, annual health requirements, etc.)
  • Ensures compliance with licensing, federal, state and local regulatory agencies and public health requirements in collaboration with the Employee Health Medical Director, Infection Prevention, and others involved in the Environment of Care
  • Manages productivity and expenses for the market working closely with market HR leadership on budgetary needs, including oversight of Employee Health vendor contracts and billing
  • Performs or delegates required superuser duties within the Employee Health records system as required (e.g.  assisting with access, security roles, etc.)

Qualifications

Bachelor’s Degree and a minimum of three (3) years in an Occupational/Employee Health or applicable healthcare setting, OR minimum of five (5) years Employee Health or leadership experience in the discipline

RN licensen preferred
