The posted compensation range of $26.70 - $39.71 /hour is a reasonable estimate that extends from the lowest to the highest pay CommonSpirit in good faith believes it might pay for this particular job, based on the circumstances at the time of posting. Job Summary and Responsibilities

At CHI Health, we believe cancer care goes far beyond treatment. Our Cancer Support Services team walks alongside patients and families through every stage of the cancer journey — addressing psychosocial, emotional, and practical needs with compassion and expertise.

We are seeking a Social Work Supervisor to lead and support our oncology social work team while continuing to make direct impact with patients. This is a hands-on leadership role ideal for an experienced oncology social worker who is ready to guide others, elevate team performance, and shape meaningful patient-centered care.

What you'll do:

Lead & Develop a High-Performing Team -

  • Interview, hire, onboard, train, and evaluate social work team members

  • Assign and oversee day-to-day operations

  • Set performance goals and provide coaching, recognition, and corrective guidance as needed

  • Ensure appropriate staffing to meet patient and departmental needs

Deliver Direct Patient Impact -

  • Complete psychosocial assessments for inpatient and outpatient oncology patients

  • Address emotional, social, and financial needs using evidence-based interventions

  • Review psychosocial distress screenings and ensure timely follow-up

  • Facilitate cancer support services and support groups

  • Collaborate closely with physicians, oncology staff, and interdisciplinary care teams

Champion Collaborative Cancer Care -

  • Serve as a role model within the department

  • Partner with oncology and psychosocial support teams to enhance the continuum of care

  • Help strengthen resources and services available to patients and families

Job Requirements

Required Education: Master’s (MSW) or Post Graduate Degree

Required Licensure and Certifications: (CMSW) Certified Master Social Worker, Licensed Master Social Worker (LMSW), NE State Certification (CSW)

Required Minimum Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Knowledgeable about cancer, treatment, psychosocial implications, appropriate interventions & available community resources for cancer patients & families. Must possess excellent communication skills, have the ability to develop & facilitate support groups, multi-task and possess strong problem solving & leadership skills.


Where You'll Work

CHI Health treats cancer patients through the CHI Health Henry Lynch Cancer Center. One of their main priorities is to provide the utmost care for patients and their families. Their cancer center provides patients with a strong team of expert oncologists, radiation oncologists and cancer nurse navigators. Together, the patient’s medical care team will create a treatment plan specific to the patient’s cancer diagnosis.
