The posted compensation range of $146.90 - $205.66 /hour is a reasonable estimate that extends from the lowest to the highest pay CommonSpirit in good faith believes it might pay for this particular job, based on the circumstances at the time of posting. CommonSpirit may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range as permitted by law.

Job Summary and Responsibilities

As our Market CFO, you will coordinate facility processes with centralized finance to ensure a robust internal control environment that safeguards assets and yields timely, consistent, and accurate financial information. You will serve as the primary accountable hospital liaison for the facility's Revenue Cycle and communicate financial results in a straightforward, transparent manner.  This position will serve both as the Market CFO overseeing all of the Central Coast Hospitals and the facility CFO for St. John's Oxnard and St. John's Camarillo.

Every day you will partner with regional leadership to manage operational finance performance, providing actionable insights, measuring success, and coaching business unit leaders on improvement opportunities. You will drive financial strategy, oversee complex budgeting and long-term planning, and collaborate with operational leaders to validate assumptions, mitigate risks, and execute action plans that meet financial targets.

To be successful in this role, you will demonstrate exceptional executive financial leadership, deep expertise in healthcare operational finance, and a proven ability to drive regulatory compliance, revenue cycle efficiency, and strategic growth within a complex, multi-market environment.

  • Oversee budgeting, long-term financial planning, and forecasting to align with the organization’s mission and strategic goals.
  • Manage market operational finance performance, providing deep insights and coaching leadership to drive continuous improvement.
  • Serve as the accountable liaison for the facility's Revenue Cycle, influencing metrics and performance across coding, billing, and collections.
  • Represent the organization in financial affairs, including presenting financial results and addressing complex regulatory issues.
  • Partner with FP&A and regional leadership to interpret financial analysis and ensure key insights are integrated into planning processes.
  • Ensure the proper recording, compiling, and reporting of data, including cost reporting to 3rd party payers and feasibility studies.
  • Collaborate with operational leaders and executive sponsors to develop and execute business unit strategies, policies, and procedures.
  • Support additional liaison duties such as supply chain optimization, labor productivity, facilities, and real estate management.

Job Requirements

In addition to bringing humankindness to the workplace each day, qualified candidates will need the following:

Required:

  • Masters degree or equivalent in Finance, Business Administration, CPA, or related discipline.
  • Minimum of seven (7) years of progressive/combined experience in healthcare finance and management.
  • Minimum of five (5) years of management experience.

Preferred:

  • Certified Public Accountant: CA (CPA:CA)
