The posted compensation range of $72.88 - $108.42 /hour is a reasonable estimate that extends from the lowest to the highest pay CommonSpirit in good faith believes it might pay for this particular job, based on the circumstances at the time of posting. CommonSpirit may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range as permitted by law.

Job Summary and Responsibilities
As our Market Director Education, you will report directly to the Market CNO, and in this cornerstone and highly visible position, will provides leadership, direction, and focus for nursing and clinical education throughout the Central Coast Market, as part of the broader California Region team of CommonSpirit Health. Our Central Coast Market consists of 7 Hospitals; St. John's Regional Medical Center and St. John's Hospital Camarillo in the Oxnard area, Marian Regional Medical Center, Arroyo Grande Community Hospital, and French Hospital in the Santa Maria area, Dominican Hospital in Santa Cruz, and Sequoia Hospital in Redwood City.  Travel is expected to regularly visit the Hospitals and leadership teams. 
Every day, you will ensure programs are closely coordinated and aligned with the operational and strategic needs of each individual facility's leadership, and will strive to maintain consistent levels of professional practice which meet or exceed standards of excellence. You will provide oversight of evidence based practice and the planning, coordination, implementation and evaluation of activities for nursing designed to support the National Nursing Strategy, regional initiatives and goals and objectives that increases the clinical, leadership, and management competency of clinical teams.
To be successful in this role, you will need to be an experienced leader in education with a strong clinical foundation in nursing. You will need to possess strong communication, organization, and time management skills, and be well versed in developing and executing strategic learning plans.

Job Requirements

Required Education and Experience:

  • Masters Degree in Nursing, MBA, MHA or related field required.
  • Minimum of three (3) years of general nursing experience required.
  • Minimum of five (5) years in a leadership role having a significant business impact required.
  • Leadership experience within an Academic Medical Center required.
Required Licensure: 
  • Registered Nursing License (RN) in CA required.

Required Special Skills and Training:

  • Nursing specialty certification required within 12 months of start date.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Doctorate Of Nursing DNP/PHD preferred.
