The posted compensation range of $41.22 - $55.42 /hour is a reasonable estimate that extends from the lowest to the highest pay CommonSpirit in good faith believes it might pay for this particular job, based on the circumstances at the time of posting. As a Registered Nurse (RN), you will be a pillar of our Acute Care Unit team, serving as a critical advocate for patients as they transition through their acute illness or post-operative recovery. You will be the primary point of contact for patients, ensuring that the care delivered in our ACU is high-quality, efficient, and deeply compassionate.
Every day, you will manage a diverse patient caseload within our ACU, utilizing your clinical skills to monitor vital signs, interpret diagnostic data, and respond to the evolving needs of patients. You will work in a fast-paced environment where your quick thinking, patient-centered focus, and collaborative spirit directly influence recovery timelines and overall patient satisfaction.
To thrive in this vital role, you must be a detail-oriented professional who excels in the dynamic atmosphere of an Acute Care Unit. You are a natural problem-solver who enjoys working as part of a close-knit nursing team and is committed to upholding the high standards of safety and clinical excellence required in our ACU setting.
Responsibilities:
- Manage ACU Caseloads: Provide high-quality, evidence-based nursing care for a variety of medical-surgical patients within the Acute Care Unit, ensuring all care aligns with organizational standards.
- Clinical Monitoring: Continuously monitor patient status in the ACU, accurately interpreting telemetry, lab results, and physical assessment findings to identify changes in patient condition.
- Medication & Treatment Administration: Safely administer medications, IV therapies, and specialized treatments as ordered, adhering strictly to ACU safety protocols and hospital policy.
- Interdisciplinary Collaboration: Act as the primary liaison in the ACU between patients, family members, physicians, and ancillary staff to ensure a seamless and coordinated plan of care.
- Documentation Excellence: Maintain precise and timely documentation of all ACU nursing assessments, interventions, and patient responses within the Electronic Medical Record (EMR).
- Discharge & Education Planning: Lead the transition-of-care process by educating patients and families on ACU-specific discharge instructions, medication management, and follow-up care to prevent readmission.
Job Requirements
Required
- Graduate of accredited professional nursing education program.
- Registered Nurse Licensed by the State of Minnesota.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) issued by the American Heart Association (AHA).
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS).
- Obtain Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) within one (1) year of start date.
