As our Advanced Heart Failure and Transplant Cardiologist you will deeply impact patient lives at St. Joseph's Hospital and Medical Center, a leading institution within CommonSpirit Health. This Cardiovascular Physician opportunity at our Academic Medical Center involves providing comprehensive inpatient and outpatient care for advanced heart failure and cardiogenic shock patients. You will be instrumental in Cardiovascular Disease Management, performing Transplant Cardiology evaluations, and potentially conducting advanced procedures like right heart catheterizations and LVAD RAMP studies, leveraging cutting-edge Cardiac Catheterization Lab technologies. This role is ideal for a Heart Failure Specialist seeking to contribute to a Top Hospital in Phoenix, Arizona.
Every day you will manage complex heart failure cases, provide critical on-call support, and guide patients through transplant evaluations. You'll utilize your expertise in Advanced Cardiac Care to optimize patient outcomes and contribute to our commitment to Patient-Centered Care. A key aspect of your daily work will also involve active participation in Medical Education, mentoring the next generation of Cardiology Fellows, medical students, and residents. Furthermore, you will be a vital contributor to Clinical Research initiatives, pushing the boundaries of Cardiovascular Medicine and translating discoveries into improved patient care.
To be successful in this role, you will possess exceptional clinical acumen in Advanced Heart Failure Management and a strong commitment to academic excellence. Your ability to integrate seamlessly into a collaborative team environment, combined with a passion for Teaching and Mentoring, will be paramount. We are seeking a proactive and innovative Physician Leader who can drive clinical advancements, engage in impactful research, and potentially take on Leadership Opportunities within our renowned cardiovascular division. We are offering a competitive 2 year salary guarantee then RVU-based, a sign-on bonus, full benefits, CME allowance, Malpractice with tail coverage, and relocation assistance for eligible candidates. Job Requirements
Required
- MD or DO degree from an accredited medical school.
- Board certified or Board Eligible in Cardiovascular Diseases.
- Completion of an ABIM-accredited Advanced Heart Failure Fellowship, with board eligibility or certification in Advanced Heart Failure and Transplant Cardiology
- Proven experience and proficiency in the management of a breadth of temporary mechanical circulatory support devices including VA-ECMO, Impella CP/RP/5.5, Protek-Duo, IABP, etc.
- Expertise in the peri- and post-operative care of durable VAD and patients with heart transplants
- Demonstrated commitment to teaching and mentoring, with a preference for prior academic experience.
- Possess an entrepreneurial spirit, eager to contribute to the growth and development of our expanding program.
- Ability to obtain full and unrestricted hospital privileges at Dignity Health Arizona hospitals.
- Active or eligible license in the state of Arizona

Dignity Health Medical Group is the employed provider group of Dignity Health Arizona. Dignity Health Medical Group (DHMG) employs approximately 350 providers and 850 support staff who cover a wide variety of specialties. The medical group has had tremendous success over the past few years and now provides more than 73 sub-specialty services. The physicians and APPs provide clinical services in their areas of specialty and many serve in pivotal academic research and leadership roles. DHMG is also heavily involved in preparing tomorrow's healthcare providers. Clinical services are complemented with translational and bench research to augment medical education for residents and students.
