Job Summary / Purpose
The Technical Program Manager for Comprehensive Patient Status Systems (CPaSS) is responsible for designing and managing the implementation, operations, and evaluation of strategic technical programs or functions within the clinical enterprise. The program manager will engage business and clinical stakeholders, drive key imperatives, and deliver people, process, and product optimization. This individual will identify, implement and evaluate information systems and operational processes which support clinical practice and business operations, and establish standards and practices within a specified area of focus. This role will be vital in the digital transformation and delivery of patient status systems throughout CommonSpirit Health. This Program Manager role will be considered a technical expert in the related field and is responsible for overseeing management of highly complex programs, often with organizational wide impact. Additionally, the Program Manager role is responsible for directing, evaluating, and providing feedback to professional level employees who participate in the operations of the applicable programs. This role may also direct the work of other employees, occasionally from multiple cost centers and are responsible for communication of resource needs across multiple departments.
Essential Functions
- Implements the strategic plan for a specific program or group of technical programs and manages the implementation of key clinical technical initiatives to ensure desired goals and objectives are met.
- Serves as Technical expert in applicable applications or technologies that are utilized as part of this program.
- Maintains an in-depth knowledge of existing and developing technologies and their dependent applications to serve as a technical knowledge resource and liaison for the clinical enterprise and internal customers.
- Translates highly technical workflows and configuration, data and information into meaningful stories related to strategic aspects of assigned program.
- Provides expertise as a change agent and project management expert for new innovation. Uses change management strategies throughout the planning and implementation process to ensure success. Provides
leadership to managers and directors during the introduction of new technology/processes by effective delivery of the project plan and achievement of the desired goals. - Acts as an advisor and builds and maintains relationships across the wider stakeholder community.
- Ensures and balances the availability of the required skills and competencies across project teams within the program. Schedules and forecasts program staffing and other resource needs.
- Leads regular interactions with the executive sponsor to inform, alert, negotiate and maintain a continuing good relationship and shared vision for the program outcome.
- Establishes and ensures appropriate governance functions for the program in accordance with system policies, practices and on behalf of the executive sponsor.
- Coordinates the collection and reporting of metrics defining benefits realization associated with clinical initiatives within a focused area or role. Responsible for the achievement of desired outcomes within a program of work and develops recommendations for improvement if necessary.

Qualifications
Education and Experience
- Bachelors Degree in Healthcare, Information Technology, Business or related field.
- 10 years of experience in application support, implementation or development experience with clinical and financial applications in a hospital or medical related industry required.
- 7 years advanced understanding and comfort leading business and technology partners through a structured implementation life cycle required.
- 10 years of extensive knowledge of technical requirements, specification development and creation of design and system test plans required.
- 7 years advanced understanding of technology projects and concepts as they relate to high level business objectives and ability to present those concepts to both IT and non IT audiences in concise and easily understandable manner required
- 7+ years of projet management experience. Strong supervisor and leadership skills required.
- Project Management experience in Healthcare environment required.
- Masters degree in Healthcare, Information Technology, Business or related field preferred.
- Project Management Professional (PMP) preferred.
