Responsibilities

This is a remote position.

This role requires a strategic, process-oriented leader who can work with cross functional teams to create the optimization and scalability of CommonSpirit’s marketing function. This role is critical in establishing strong governance structures, standing up foundational tools like a Digital Asset Management (DAM) system, and operationalizing  work management processes using platforms like Workfront. The Director of Marketing Operations & Process Improvement will  partner across marketing, IT, and business teams to streamline workflows, increase visibility, and improve overall marketing effectiveness. This role requires the ability to create followership across the organization and lead the functions changement management efforts. 

Marketing Operations & Governance

  • Develop and implement a comprehensive marketing governance framework that aligns with business objectives and ensures consistency, compliance, and quality.
  • Define and enforce best practices across campaign execution, asset usage, content management, and brand application.
  • Create and manage operational playbooks, SOPs, and reporting structures for cross-functional marketing initiatives.
  • Be a leader of change management and adoption of governance structures and operational processes across Region/Market teams. 

Workflow & Project Management

  • Lead the deployment, adoption, and continuous optimization of Workfront as the marketing work management platform.
  • Standardize intake, prioritization, and delivery of marketing requests and campaigns across the organization.
  • Develop and maintain dashboards and reporting to provide transparency into project status, resource allocation, and performance metrics.

Technology & Infrastructure

  • Own the evaluation, selection, implementation, and management of marketing tools and technologies that support scaled processes and work flows. 
  • Partner with IT, Region/Market teams and other key stakeholders to ensure seamless integration of the DAM into existing systems and workflows.
  • Champion user adoption and training across teams, ensuring tools are leveraged to their fullest potential.

Performance & Measurement

  • Establish KPIs and operational benchmarks to measure marketing performance and process efficiency.
  • Partner with analytics and insights teams to refine marketing dashboards and enable data-driven decisions.
  • Use data to create process improvement plans that will drive efficiencies, cost savings and functional alignment.

Team Leadership & Cross-functional Collaboration

  • Build and lead a high-performing Marketing Operations team.
  • Collaborate with leaders in Brand, Content, Digital, Creative, Marketing to ensure operational alignment and efficiency.
  • Serve as the marketing lead for compliance and legal reviews of marketing processes and tools.

Qualifications

Required Education and Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in marketing, communications or related field. 
  • 8+ years of experience in marketing operations, project management, or related fields
  • 3+ years of experience in a manager level role, preferably in a mid-to-large scale enterprise or fast-paced environment
  • Proven experience standing up and managing Workfront and DAM systems
  • Strong understanding of marketing technology ecosystems (e.g., CRM, CMS, AEM tools and products)
