The posted compensation range of $49.13 - $49.13 /hour is a reasonable estimate that extends from the lowest to the highest pay CommonSpirit in good faith believes it might pay for this particular job, based on the circumstances at the time of posting. As our Sonographer, you will utilize advanced sonographic equipment to record detailed images of blood, organs, tissues, and bodily masses, including unborn fetuses, providing critical visual data for diagnosis and prenatal care.
Every day you will directly interact with patients, explaining procedures, answering questions, and preparing them for scans. You will meticulously operate sonographic equipment, adjusting settings and patient positions to ensure clear, diagnostic images. You will monitor and care for patients to ensure their safety and comfort, select and examine images for pathologies, and present preliminary findings to Physicians.
To be successful in this role, you will possess excellent patient service and communication skills, sharp eyesight, and meticulous attention to detail. You will demonstrate strong technical proficiency, sound judgment, and advanced decision-making skills to effectively capture and interpret sonographic data, ensuring optimal diagnostic support.
- Performs exams based on anatomy and patient habitus per exam protocol
- Demonstrates competency in performing procedures as reflected in the exam protocol as well as complies with performance of two patient identifier and gel in/gel out. Produces high quality imaging, provides legible, accurate and complete documentation to physician, .
- Performs exams in all areas of the hospital such as portables on units, portables in ED and portables in OR
- Demonstrates competency in calling for assistance when patient status requires such action (i.e.. Rapid Response, Code, etc)
- Demonstrates proficiency in locating patient information in Empower, RCO, RADNET, Dominator as needed in the performance/dictation of exam.
- Accurately, thoroughly and timely completes hospital/department forms per protocol i.e. incident reports, side/site forms, maintenance request forms etc. Completes exam(s) in Radnet, enters notes or other required documentation into Radnet, DR or other computer systems.
Job Requirements
Required
- High School Graduate and Six months experience performing ultrasoundin a clinical setting either training or working
- Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer, or
- Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer, or
- Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer Adult Echo, or
- Registered Cardiac Electr, or
- Registered Cardiac Sonographer CCI, or
- Registered Technologist Computed Tomography, or
- Registered Technologist Radiography ARRT, or
- American Heart Association Basic Life Support for Healthcare Providers (CT CPRBLS)
Preferred
- A.A. or higher college level degree and One year experience working and performing ultrasound in a clinical setting., upon hire
