The posted compensation range of $19.01 - $26.85 /hour is a reasonable estimate that extends from the lowest to the highest pay CommonSpirit in good faith believes it might pay for this particular job, based on the circumstances at the time of posting. Job Summary and Responsibilities

The Armed Security Officer is responsible for maintaining a safe and secure environment for all individuals entering Dignity Health properties and for ensuring the physical security of the buildings and grounds. This position is expected to demonstrate behavior that reflects Dignity Health’s Core Values and the principles of Hello Humankindness. The Armed Security Officer supports the organization’s strategic plan and contributes to quality improvement and process improvement initiatives by promoting safety, professionalism, and consistent adherence to security protocols.

  • Implements requirements of the Security Management Plan. Manages and coordinates responses to critical incidents. Monitors and documents actual and potential security breaches.
  • Conducts ongoing security orientation and training of assigned staff and may serve as Field Training Officer. Maintains a high level of visibility and provides an armed presence in the Emergency Department and in any other areas of the facility as needed.
  • Responds to calls for Security presence within the Emergency Department and other areas of the facility to assists staff as requested.
  • Conducts routine safety patrols of assigned areas, reporting safety and security issues within those areas.
  • Provides Helipad and Landing security.

Job Requirements

Minimum:

  • One (1) year experience as a Security Officer involving extensive public contact.
  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Valid AZ State Driver's License.
  • American Heart Association-issued BLS card within 60 days of hire.

Preferred:

  • One (1) year experience as a Security Officer in a hospital or healthcare setting, prior law enforcement or military service.
  • Completion of college level education courses in criminal justice.
  • Basic Health Care Security Officer (BSO) within 90 days of hire.
