The posted compensation range of $407,534 - $649,708 /year is a reasonable estimate that extends from the lowest to the highest pay CommonSpirit in good faith believes it might pay for this particular job, based on the circumstances at the time of posting. Job Summary and Responsibilities

As our Cardiology Section Chief, you will lead and innovate within a prestigious, established, and growing employed practice in scenic Prescott, AZ. This pivotal leadership role offers a unique blend of clinical excellence and strategic departmental oversight, focusing on cardiovascular quality improvement, practice development, and provider engagement. Ideal for a board-certified cardiologist seeking to make a significant impact on an integrated healthcare system, this position drives the future of cardiac care in the region, ensuring adherence to evidence-based medicine and fostering a culture of continuous learning and high performance.

Every day you will provide 0.8 FTE of dedicated clinical cardiology care, directly impacting patient outcomes and serving as a role model for best practices. Concurrently, your 0.2 administrative FTE will be dedicated to departmental strategic planning, establishing cutting-edge protocols, conducting comprehensive provider performance reviews, and championing professional development initiatives for our cardiology team. You will actively collaborate with the Chief Medical Officer to elevate patient experience and integrate into a robust leadership framework, including participation in the Yavapai Regional Medical Group Leadership Council and shaping future medical education programs for GME candidatesmedical students, and APPs.

To be successful in this role, you will possess board certification in Cardiology with a proven track record of clinical excellence and leadership in cardiovascular medicine. You'll demonstrate an unwavering commitment to quality outcomes, continuous learning, and fostering a collaborative, high-performing team environment. Strong communication skills, strategic thinking, and a dedication to both patient-centered care and provider growth are essential. Ideally, candidates will have experience in developing and implementing cardiac care pathways, optimizing departmental workflows, and contributing to the advancement of cardiovascular education within a healthcare system.


Job Requirements

Required

  • Completion of a residency in medicine and a fellowship in cardiology, in ACGME approved programs
  • Current BC/BE in Cardiology (American Board of Internal Medicine/Cardiology)
  • Valid state medical license as MD or DO
  • Valid DEA certificate

Where You'll Work

The Department Chair is responsible for delivering outstanding patient care as well as administrative leadership and oversight for the department and clinical specialty subsections.The Department Chair will commit to clinical work as a 0.8 FTE and a 0.2 administrative FTE.
