The posted compensation range of $62.50 - $90.63 /hour is a reasonable estimate that extends from the lowest to the highest pay CommonSpirit in good faith believes it might pay for this particular job, based on the circumstances at the time of posting. The APP Orientation & Optimization Lead supports the Advanced Practice Market/Region leader and Regional Operations Director with direction and delivery of the National APP Orientation Program, and general assessment and reporting of optimization opportunities across the identified locations in which new APPs are hired in accordance with established policies, procedures and standards. Identifies and coordinates with physician and APP preceptors to ensure understanding of preceptor role and adherence to the national clinical orientation
program. Supports Director with maintaining matrixed alignment with the national office of advanced practice to support enterprise systemness and create consistent standards across the advanced practice workforce. Involved in interviewing, staffing and scheduling arrangements for newly hired APPs throughout their orientation experience. Identifies operational issues, and works to resolution, escalates to leadership when required. Participates in recruitment activities including interviewing and evaluating applicants. Facilitates onboarding and
orientation of newly hired APPs. Contributes to adherence with federal and state regulations and standards. Facilitates education or policy updates pertaining to departmental/service line APPs. Participates actively in clinical leadership activities, councils and committees.
Essential Functions of the Role:
Coordinates new hire APP onboarding and orientation clinical experiences to include: Interviews, welcome communications, Day 1 - Day 90 (or more as needed) training in person and electronic support
Ensures graduated, documented clinical responsibility in alignment with national orientation and clinic/facility expectations for newly hired APP
Escalates concerns in APP clinical capability or preceptor participation as appropriate and identifies associated resources for remediation and develops a plan for extended orientation timeframe, agreed upon collaboratively by operational and clinical leadership
Coordinates with local teams to ensure clinical Preceptors understand their role and participate in clinical competency assessment and support
Coordinates APP clinic or inpatient activities and schedules new hire APPs to ensure efficiency and quality service is delivered within all sections of the specialty area. Work as a dyad with the practice managers to engage the entire care team in achieving those initiatives.
Participate actively in clinic/facility leadership activities, such as governance, division meetings and management councils.
Provides workflow and support to the newly hired APPs in a diverse and multicultural environment, assists the manager with identifying operational issues, and provides guidance for resolution.
Works with individual specialty clinic/facility management and medical staff, to evaluate, monitor and enforce clinic/facility specific protocols, procedures and objectives; maintains compliance with federal/state regulations and standards for newly hired APP (including licensure certification requirements).
Monitors newly hired APP time management and assists with practice efficiency.
Provides feedback to newly hired APP and leadership at the site from a quality, safety, service excellence, and value standpoint. May also be responsible for directly evaluating and contributing to performance improvement plans.
Participates with the clinic/ facility management in pre-employment interviews and makes recommendations regarding hiring.
Monitors utilization of staff and supplies in assigned areas, and recommends appropriate adjustments to stay within budget guidelines while maintaining the quality of healthcare.
Qualifications
Minimum Education & Experience Required:
Master’s Degree in one of the Five APP roles: NP, PA, CNS, CNM, CRNA.
Minimum 2 years of clinical experience as APP in relevant area of practice/specialty
Certification in advanced practice focus area of practice is required.
Active Registered Licensure in practice area.
Doctoral degree is encouraged/preferred
