The posted compensation range of $24.00 - $24.00 /hour is a reasonable estimate that extends from the lowest to the highest pay CommonSpirit in good faith believes it might pay for this particular job, based on the circumstances at the time of posting. CommonSpirit may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range as permitted by law.
As an Activities Assistant, you will be instrumental in bringing joy and engagement to our residents' lives by supporting and facilitating enriching activities.
Every day, you will assist with the preparation, implementation, and cleanup of various daily activities, directly interacting with residents to encourage participation and provide support. You will help create a welcoming and fun environment for all.
To be successful in this role, you will be compassionate, energetic, and possess strong interpersonal skills. Your ability to connect with residents and contribute to a positive team environment will be highly valued.
- Plan for activities as scheduled, organizing supplies and equipment to be ready to begin at least 15 minutes prior to start of each activity 90-95% of the time.
- Coordinate transportation of residents by nursing staff and volunteers to and from activities appropriate to the resident's functional level and interests resulting in groups with at least 75-80% of the participants actively involved.
- Conduct activities utilizing appropriate group leadership skills resulting in positive comments from residents or family members. Three verbal or one written comment exceeds criteria; one to two verbal comments meets criteria; complaints or absence of any positive comments does not meet criteria.
- Provide one-on-one visits and activities to assigned residents noting approaches and equipment used, resident's response to visit, and further action needed. Two visits per week meets criteria.
- Observe and document resident attendance, mood, behavior and degree of participation in individual and group activity programs according to regulations and facility policy and procedures. Narrative notes on 25% or more of the population monthly exceeds criteria: accurate documentation and occasional narrative notes meets criteria; mistakes on attendance records or failure to document an unusual occurrence in narrative form does not meet criteria.
- Update attendance book and visit logs daily to reflect admissions, discharges and room changes by the following day 96- 98% of the time.
Job Requirements
Required:
- Other Satisfactory completion of a state approved training course for Activity Professionals or two years of full time experience in an activity department in a health care setting, upon hire
- Certified Music Therapist, upon hire or
- Recreational Therapist: CA, upon hire or
- Occupational Therapist: CA, upon hire
