The posted compensation range of $27.25 - $31.93 /hour is a reasonable estimate that extends from the lowest to the highest pay CommonSpirit in good faith believes it might pay for this particular job, based on the circumstances at the time of posting. CommonSpirit may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range as permitted by law.

Job Summary and Responsibilities

As our Lead Security Officer, you will lead a team in performing a full range of security activities, diligently patrolling campuses and clinics to protect persons, property, and equipment from volatile individuals, unauthorized access, or hazards.

Every day you will oversee security operations, patrol assigned buildings (foot/vehicle), identify violations, investigate incidents, respond to alarms/emergency codes, control hospital access, monitor detection systems, support helistop operations, and de-escalate or physically restrain individuals when necessary, meticulously documenting all actions and observations.

To be successful in this role, you will possess strong leadership abilities, exceptional vigilance, customer service skills, physical capacity for emergency response, and the ability to exercise sound judgment in interpreting and applying security guidelines, all while upholding a safe and secure environment.

  • Provides leadership for Security Services and Ensures delivery of quality services; regulatory compliance, and manages operations efficiently and effectively.
  • Assist with oversight of the campus security and parking enforcement
  • Plans, organizes and directs work assignments. Assists with training of security staff. Ensures that all Security Officers assigned to the shift meet program standards, including uniform and grooming standards
  • Assists with the implementation and maintenance of security procedures to ensure compliance with applicable codes and regulations. Makes recommendations to improve physical security and/or department operations.
  • Prepares all required shift paperwork. Conducts ongoing security orientation and training of assigned staff and may serve as Field Training Officer.
  • Ensuring that the employee perspective is the driving force behind your actions and business decisions; crafting and implementing service that meets employees and the organization’s needs. (Focus also includes internal and external customers. Demonstrates breadth and/or depth of professional/technical skills and capabilities required for position; shares knowledge; sets or contributes to CommonSpirit Health’s direction within area of expertise.

Job Requirements

Required

  • High School Graduate General Studies, or
  • High School GED General Studies
  • less than 1 year Six (6) months experience as security officer in a healthcare setting, Law enforcement or military service, upon hire or
  • 1-3 years One (1) year experience as a Security Officer
  • Security Guard: CA
  • Basic Life Support - CPR, within 90 Days 
  • Driver's License: CA, within 30 Days
